Interesting to to see the list.

So in BTC history only 2 years had the price lower than previous year. It was 2014 and 2018 !

Thanks for sharing  Cool

The halving really did stand out, hopefully that it will different this year because that can only mean that the market will become predictable. I had seen this post shared by my friend in a social media platform. The funny thing about this list is that ATH always hits at the last month of the year even though the halving happened over a month.

It's good to see this kind of value every Christmas eve, it seems like bitcoin rises year by year, this year is the greatest one and it reaches the new ATH which is really good and a good Christmas gift for every investors, especially those who invested way back the month of March and waited until this thing happened right now. Hoping that next year would be something that makes us shock again.

I've heard that some people called 2020 new 2017 because Bitcoin dramatically gained more value. I hope 2021 won't be like 2018, and Bitcoin will go to the Moon.

Nah, 2020 is just like 2016, we are not yet in the bubble that was comparable to 2017 dramatic rise. So it means that 2021 is still the year wherein the price could really take off and we don't know what will the final price before the bubble is burst. Or yet, it will continue it's dramatic rise in 2022 who knows. And it's historical price during December shows how bitcoin really development from a simple asset becoming the best speculative, and now companies see it as a hedge. The future really looks bright.

In my knowledge of bitcoin performance at the year and eve of 25th, I think that this year has been great for bitcoin because of the problems of 2020. This year was a hard one but bitcoin performed far to the expectation of all.

Who would have thought way back 2010 that the price will rise as high as $25,000. Bitcoin is getting a lot of attention and adaptation this year. The possibility of seeing a higher price is still high. There might be a correction that's gonna happen when the year is over but still the probability of seeing the price reach $30,000 is still possible.

Haven't had the opportunity to look into the price as I just did with this thread of yours. It seems after the halving year bitcoin rose the next year than it followed by a dumped before raising again the next year that's based on the price recorded on the Christmas eve. If you noticed it occurred in 2014 and 2018 hopefully this trend won't repeat itself in 2022 because that'll be devasting and who knows how that incident will affect the market.

Although using just one day to judge the performance of the most volatile currency is quite outrageous but since the concentration here is the Christmas Eve prices for past years it just had to be done.

Some positively we can take from this is there's certainly a tendency of bitcoin giving you a profit if you invest prior to the Christmas eve one year after and before the halving year but to stamp this as a fact we'll need more years for confirmation and 2022 might just be one of those years.

If I'm gonna be doing very quick speculation, it seems like Bitcoin does have a simple pattern.  It's just something to observe or notice but please don't take it seriously.  But when you look at the price changes, it seems like Bitcoin has this pattern just like, Increase > decrease > decrease>Increase more.

In the year 2013, the price went up then the coming years had decrease then suddenly, an unexpected skyrocket/ bull run.  It probably the same goes for the next years base on my own speculation.

It seems we have met the new ATH, and we are now trying to break another new ATH and reaching $25k by next year.  So no more 2017 the highest price of Bitcoin, it's now in 2020.

It seems to have wavy upward trend of price, price boost in around 4 years, a bit after the halving. The price hike followed by 3 to 4 years of low which signifies new base level until it makes a new all time high again. That's the general idea but bitcoin has increased more than anyone had imagined and even as I write it, it's making a new all time high.

Every Christmas eve is really also a great value for bitcoin. Nice to see this value every year. hopefully by next next year it will be more than what bitcoin reached.

Maybe you should indicate too your source before you ask him. It's just a 300$ difference so I don't see a big deal on it. And also exchange varies price at that particular time due to difference on liquidity volume. I'm assuming that he used a certain exchange rate or coinmarketcap rate(average rate of BTC in all exchange) to determine all the price history.

There's no wrong to used that as long as he use same source of price data for all the timeframe he indicate above.

The four year cycle looks amazing with those prices.

2020 - $23,400
2019 - $7,318
2018 - $4,124

2017 - $13,673
2016 - $899
2015 - $453
2014 - $330

2013 - $651
2012 - $13
2011 - $4
2010 - $0.25

What's next for 2021?

If bitcoin will still follow the pattern of the four year cycle then it's for sure that we'll see more than what we see today. Bitcoin just got into $25k and that's a quick-turn run for bitcoin. With less than 24 hours, it's moved to $1k. After it's testing itself from $24k. We are at 69.3% dominance and if this increases, price of bitcoin will also reflect to it as positive as it is.
