Is there anything special about this "Bitcoin Cafe" anyway? Besides just having bitcoin-related wall designs? They should've at least put up a television that displays live cryptocurrency prices, or maybe play CNBC Crypto videos or something.

The owner better know about bitcoin, I have had talked with him for hours. He is an expert man in tech. I don't know if he own. He said he don't.
The whole cafe was designed with various cryptographic design, I guess it will make visitor learn about cryptocurrency. I am sure most of them ask what that means, why the design are like this etc. They will somehow know that there's something existed namely cryptocurrency, bitcoin. Isn't it much for us? At the end, when bitcoin will be legal, I guess they all will be more interested.

What if other business establishments name themselves after cryptocurrencies? Bitcoin Laundry Shop, or Ethereum Shopping Center, or perhaps Waves Outdoor Shop. Do you think this will hasten the legalization of crypto in your country?

Is Libra a good cryptocurrency? No.
But still it will help cryptocurrency go more mainstream and increase the adoption. I'm sure it will increase the crypto adoption.
In the same way, this type of name can play as great role to promote.
People will search with the word in google and will get what it is. Isn't it a good way?

Why don't you ask him if he is willing to accept bitcoin if the government legalizes it? He is probably saying no to you to avoid getting in trouble.
Libra isn't going to go beyond the US if at all. I see zero reason for anyone to bother with it. Zuckerberg behind it is reason enough for me to stay away from it.

I would say he is unfairly profiting from the Bitcoin brand, even if you see it as some kind of pacific protest.

this sounds nice but it mostly looks like they focused on the decor of their place, and without actually accepting bitcoin it is not much of a "bitcoin cafe" in my opinion, it is just a regular one with a lot of altcoin icons in the background of the shop.

you also mentioned "promotion", i don't think it is doing that either because bitcoin is already banned in Bangladesh so it wouldn't matter even if people were exposed to this, they still aren't going to buy bitcoin.

Well, maybe people asking now how come that cafe looks like there are many logos on crypto but the whole concept they did not accept bitcoin/cryptocurrency as a payment. from the photos the place looks nice and is a huge bitcoin advertisement but they were right not to accept bitcoin payment if it is illegal in the country...

It may work if they play the educational role seriously, as giving small tidbits about the whole thing, in coasters the tables, signs, video screens, etc; to let the public know. Eventually politicians will attend the cafe to find out, and perhaps later turn the anti bitcoin stance.

Perhaps a map somewhere: Did you know? Showing in green the countries where its legal (ie. the wikipedia legality map).

"Petition your politician today" with their mail addresses, etc.

I think this is a great idea. If cryptocurrencies are in trend, then why not to make a design for them in your cafe. It looks very interesting. But i think it would be more fair to call the "Cryptocurrency Cafe" since the photo shows logos of other cryptocurrencies except Bitcoin. But it sounds harder and not so popular

wish BTC will soon be legal in your country though. otherwise your country will be left behind. i'm also from a poor country in the world like Bangladesh,  some people from this country relying in online jobs. Their government should just consider BTC, adopt it like how big countries does.

I kind of like the boldness of the owner to have such a place with Bitcoin so visible in a country that is hostile to Bitcoin. The owner must have had to really think it through, as placing a spotlight on his business in such a way could go both ways for him.

Reading your post @OP, it is indeed a good thing that the government that  banned BTC is now reconsidering the lift the ban or illegality of the use of cryptocurrency in your country.  It seems the Finance Ministry had come to their senses that it will serve him good to open the country for the cryptocurrency usage than ban it.

I think that the reason for governments in this area bans cryptocurrencies is the rampant criminality there.
Governments probably try to regulate criminals and try to close every funnel of funding their illegal activities. They are not opposed to the technological innovation of bitcoin but maybe right now they don't have any other reason to allow it.

In Dhanmondi, there's a cafe namely "The Bitcoin Cafe". Although they don't accept bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, I see it as a great way of promotion, people will learn more about Bitcoin and cryptocurrency. I have visited this cafe 2 times and asked to pay with Bitcoin but he wasn't agreed.

If a country bans bitcoin then there is no way anyone could fight against that on a public domain and if your government can understand the true inception of bitcoin then they might rethink on what to do with the market if they fully understand the change required in the current market structure and the importance of a decentralized digital currency, i am not sure whether the cafe you are talking about is advertising bitcoin but it will be certainly be a niche cafe and a news grabber for coming up with the unorthodox niche that is not that familiar in your country.

Was the cafe built before the government declared the Illegalization of Bitcoin? If not, then it's quite impressive to know the owner of the cafe taking a dangerous step just to promote the Bitcoin. It's even named after the Bitcoin itself. I can't imagine how did he have the courage to do that. Isn't it practically breaking the law to promote something that is illegal? I mean, even tho they're not accepting Bitcoin as a payment option, they're still giving the idea of this illegal currency. However, I still admire the owner's decision to literally not accept your offer to pay with Bitcoin. On one side, he still respects the law, but on the other side, he's kinda defying it too.

The fact that bitcoin is illegal there, I found it amazing how brave the owner is to promote and even directly naming his cafe with "Bitcoin".

Don't know what's terms included on the law declaring bitcoin or any other crypto as illegal there but any form of an advertisement on such illegal things is punishable by law at most of the cases. I just wondered how come the owner can freely operate his business? Or maybe like a form of a small protest or rally as part of freedom of speech?

On a positive note, great that they are looking forward now for making bitcoin as legal currency there.

This is great, i love the deign of the coffee shop and I love the guts of the owner to name it as a Bicoin Cafe even though the government are not allowed to use bitcoin. Happy to share that we have many coffee shops here who accepts bitcoin, i hope your government to fully lift the ban so you can now freely use bitcoin.

In some countries there are still cafes like this.  I think that with the name related to the coin, only the crypto followers will come here and join the conversation.  They will talk about crypto-related topics comfortably without fear of disturbing others.

      This is great and I hope that there's also have like this in our country that people are gathering and comfortably asking about crypto currency in such a way of assimilating people about crypto currency .

very interesting, it is a good way to socialize BTC and other crypto to the public.  it would be even more interesting if the cafe was always watched about the concept of the Blockchain and some crypto currencies.  I think this method is very efficient and we have to follow this Bitcoin cafe.  and hope many people understand Bitcoin.
