All crypto currencies are hard to predict their movements correctly. Sometimes bitcoin gives more profits than altcoins, and vice versa. I don't think you should only own altcoins all the time, at some good days, you should take profits with your altcoins and change to own bitcoin and wait for chances to buy altcoins back in later days.

Only lazy people or people who are not willing to learn fast would always see the disadvantage of a thing without even thinking of the advantage of it, I completely understand that trading is hard, but we still have stories of people who are on a daily basis succeeding through trading and they are making a lot of money, and the right thing they have developed is what you said, “the right skill”.
