I could also do with some more source merits tbh, I used to have more (250, I think) but I wasn't always using them up so I think that's why it was reduced, and now I'm unable to merit all posts that are worthy of merit (of those that I read through). I noticed I wasn't the only one on the merit source list to be donwgraded.

BTW, if someone always keeps having leftover source merits and not using them up try venturing into other sections once in a while, sometimes interesting threads/posts/discussions can be found.

I would love to be able to distribute more merits amongst the local sections, as I feel they are in general under merited. However, it is incredibly time consuming (and rather headache inducing) to translate entire threads or boards with a machine translator and work through them trying to find a good post or two. I was following cabalism13's thread on unmerited Filipino posts (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5137597.0), but unfortunately it's not been updated in a while. Does anyone know of any other similar threads in other languages?

Sorry, I meant to check out boards or child-boards you don't usually visit, I don't think it makes much sense to visit local language boards if you have to keep using Google Translate (or a similar tool) to understand what people are discussing.

Indeed to translate every single post = madness also translation isn't always very solid especially when people talking their own local language with different dialect etc

Basically, all Croatian users can report there good quality posts, which they wrote or someone else, and others can reward such good posts with merits.
I'm only merit source in Croatian section at the moment and often don't have enough merits for everybody so any additional merit source is very appreciated.

I support the applications. I'm also considering to apply one day, as last days (months) quite often I ran out of sMerit, and there are some people deserving to get merit, when I have the possibility I report them to a Merit source.
I know that with every application comes a drama so that's why i haven't done it yet. Anyway if there is a need for more sources, I'll trow my hat in the ring.
I have almost 100 days online in the forum for almost 2 years now so I can say that I've spent quite some time in the forum, here is my sent merit history (thanks to Vod and BPIP) with 564 merit sent
Again this is just in case more sources are needed, I would love to avoid all the drama attached to an application.

The drama is OK, I would support your application as well.... but especially for contributing members that are very often online ad the forum it would be easy to have more merit to award to good members/posts etc as being out of Smerit all the time, I think to have an OK allocation but still i'm out all the time and its a bit of F***ed up, cause a better merit distribution is needed, and I know for myself I don't hoard or miss-use merit at any time, so for that reason I do think a call for increase should be answered as i'm not an dishonest forum user of any kind, and I think more people will feel this way.

I think to double and triple some user allocation will do good for a further merit distribution, of-course the real big sources probably not in need for more maybe as a members still need to be able of sending them all out, as we know don't let merit go to waste is important as well, but for myself I know I can easily use more as i'm very often online and am always short...

I'm still available to distribute a few more Merits!
While I'm not a Merit source I'm collecting some posts here but I wouldn't mind if theymos makes me a Merit source of course. 


In addition, we have seen a new Merit all-time low in September!

Just to give my support to all the waiting applications.
Recently bumped into some good newbie posts but I'm also out of smerit and browsing from a mobile phone which is pain in the (you know what, we really need the epochtalk implementation soon) so posting the link to the report to merit source thread is just too much to do. So I skip them with a hope that some of you guys will do your job and find those.

We really need a suggest for meriting button to list the good posts directly in Report to MS thread.

We can only help by making threads like this one to draw his attention, as well as moving links of good posts to the report to merit sources thread, I'm sure theymos knows what he's doing trying to balance the amount of merits that are circulated.

This thread is mostly made so Theymos can see that there are sources that just feels like they can help to distribute more merits into the forum, like some are active every day, I know I am and a few others.... This just means with not many MS's that there (our) supply could be increased, I know I could easily send out my stash X3 or X4 times, and with "free helping out" and "enjoying helping out" it would just be a normal act to increase our stashes....

I don't know how Theymos feels about the number of MS's but a few more could also work I think....

When I am out of sMerits I struggle to keep track of merits, I might save on a pocket (bookmarking web extension) or a text file to be merited later when I rack some merits, but being a very impractical way of keeping track of merit worth posts, I seldom find myself forgetting to merits, or remembering too late and not being able to find the actual post again.
Such a similar button could signal MS or users with abundance of sMerits stash some worth merits.
It could also be a more effective way to auto signal posts to merit later.

Ideally I would to on a page that would say something like this:

Fillipppone signaled post “Xxxx” by User “Yyyy”. (2 merits granted so far by user “Zzzz”).

I am not a merit source myself and all my sMerits are sourced via post writing. I usually have periods when I write a lot (like last weeks) and I gather merits, because I have little time to do treasure hunts for good posts to spend them. On the opposite when I write less I have much time to find good posts, but having less merits inflow I usually deplete my stash fairly quickly.
That button would be helpful to mitigate that temporal imbalance too.
