So I spoke to the winner.... they had interesting information:

“OP asked *after* the auction via PM for the price to be raised to 1.1025, instead of the 1.07 I bid.  Not a fan of post-auction squeezes.”

This is not how business is conducted here.  The red trust I’m leaving can be changed to Neutral if the auction is honored properly.

That's dirty.  An auction win is an auction win.  If that was the lowest you wanted you should start at that price.  You didnt and it sold for 1.07.  If you wanted to refuse the bidder you should have right away not when it ended.  It's not that everyone is on your ass it's that this forum, specifically this sub would be filled with scammers and nonsense if we didnt self regulate.  Will give 24 hours for this to be satisfied how the auction ended, if it's not then red tag coming.

I don’t think “scam” is quite the right word here but given the repost on eBay and the suspicions all around I think if everyone is okay with it, we simply void the auction and start over.  However, if that would result in me or the seller getting flagged and never being able to buy/sell on this forum again, then I am willing to buy at the agreed upon price of 1.07 and then go through a careful escrow process to complete the transaction.

OP should honor the bid.  I have auctioned things here plenty of times that went under my "want" price, some went over.  Either way it was honored, otherwise you are wasting valuable internet space.

It is an unfortunate necessity that all participants keep a very close eye, particularly on new buyers/sellers, because scams or other fraudulent activity could occur and hurt the community at-large. I am not saying that you are one of the scammers.

I think in this particular instance, there are a number of questions surrounding this auction that are causing confusion. Remember, the people here talking in this forum and annoying you are also the potential buyers. Perhaps more than most since they are the frequenters. Questions such as:
-Why would you initially accept Shadallion's bid / not refuse his bid before auction closure? What changed between the initial bid and end of auction?
-Given a refusal of Shadallion's bid, LC would have won with his bid, how does this impact the results?
-No notice of failure of auction was given before listing reappeared on eBay - optically this could look like a double-sale scam attempt - can you understand this?

It is hard to reconcile a winner of an auction not wanting it anymore with a seller who has turned down higher offers than the auction results...

I don't feel as though I am articulating all of this the best, but hopefully at least a bit of clarity is gained.

Tagged this user unfortunately.  No room for nonsense auctions here.  Set the price at which you are comfortable letting it go for and honor your bidding.  If you want to decline a person's bid do it right away not in the end when it doesnt hit the price you want.  These auctions are a waste of time and valuable internet space.

no, yes i understand. I wish the people who are annoying me are the potential buyers. I have put this same coin for auction 3-4 times. these same people just telling me their opinions and never bidding. - thats another reason im so annoyed because if they are not bidding, why are they talking? right

- and if you look at the post. It was my fault I put it up for 7-day auction. and I had no idea I would be stuck at work (crazy week). Like if you're selling why wouldn't I be there for the last hour? my last post was in the morning 10 hours before the last day.

and yes i was trying to find a way to close the thread because HONESTLY, i felt bad because i have the same post about this coin 3-4 times now. I thought it would annoy people. But somehow i cant delete any posts. so i messaged the administrator.

and i was just explaining what happened, and everyone just went in with their opinions.
i should have said auction was canceled or something- i am a newb so i didn't understand I just wanted to close the thread. and start fresh. so it didn't annoy everyone.

Because it's a waste of time.  How do I know if I bid on one of your auctions, you will honor it.  I can only assess what i see.  And i just see an auction backed out of.  Is what it is, and if everyone is allowed to just back out of auctions and cancel whenever, this place becomes a worthless mess.

To be clear, I offered you higher prior to this auction beginning not after it started nor ended.  Once you began this auction you committed to sell to the highest bidder in the auction.  You accepted shadalloin's bid when you quoted them as the high bidder.  You owe shadallion the coin at the auction ending high bid of 1.07.  Anything else is unacceptable.

Edit to add timeline from my end:  GTA24 listed the scratched up coin for sale.  I sent PM offering 1.2 btc. They declined that offer and began an auction at 1.2 btc.  Auction had no bids.  GTA24 then sent me a message saying they would take my 1.2 btc, I declined and counter offered at 1.1xx.  They declined.  They then began another auction which shadallion won at 1.07 btc.  GTA24 then sent me a message offering me the coin at 1.1xx.  I ignored as auction had ended with shadallion winning.
