Balloonum is my personal project to create a cryptocurrency for the web, using modern and consolidated languages such as Python and PHP, and database managers such as MySQL or MongoDB.

The security of the blockchain is in charge of the Balloon algorithm, and the difficulty is recalculated after each new block.

At the moment, the project is in its alpha phase, mounted over a centralized network structure and being possible to mine (only with CPU) through the official wallet. This will change in the future, when we reach version 1.0 of the software, when all the code will be released under the GPL license, giving way to decentralization.

Version 1.0 will also include features such as PoS rewards, MasterNodes, Wallet Aliases, Smart Contracts written in PHP (and/or Python), Integrated Mining Pool, Voting system based on wallet balances, the Payment Gateway to include on your website and more features.

Coin base / Fork: Balloonum is not a fork of another coin. Is a new coin written from scratch.

[ALPHA STATUS]
On alpha status, balloonum is working on centralized mode. One node is up at this moment. In next weeks up to 16 nodes will be configured, and as I said, when we reach version 1.0, source code will be published on github.

Download CLI wallet here https://balloonum.io/wallet.php (Linux & Windows).
Create new wallet and type "startmining 4" for start mining (for 4 cores, you can change this number according your cpu configuration).

Bad luck and high diff for start. We expected 8-10k but it was quickly duplicated...

Yes, we will improve the miner. Our major doubt is if support or not graphic cards. It will decided by the community using wallet voting system when be implemented.

mining requires strong computers and fast networks. I agree what is written from your title. CPU mining only. I am interested in your company. but I'm confused and I don't see BALL tokens with details. What is the price per token? Do I have to make a wallet from your website?
