Indeed it is certainly risky, I have tried this approach and ended up with an early exhausted bank roll since if you lose your recovery strategy, you will try to recover it to be inline with your strategy, then comes the losing streak.  At the end strategy fucked up LOL.

From the start I do not think that strategy will work on wagering competition, like you said the cause of lose is much greater than the profit so it is hard for recover. That starategy is only work to aim some jackpot but for wagering 2x is still the best way to create huge wager amount. 1.25x has also the same effect as the 1.02x startegy. If you are lucky enough you will get around 10x or 20x from the initial bet but still it is hard to compete with some big whale there
