Yeah, Melbourne was better choice and now Indian team also don't want to play in Queensland due to new restrictions and its hard to disagree as it tough to go in bubble again for 14 days. Indian team not keen on travelling to Brisbane for fourth TestThe visitors have been very clear since arriving in Australia that once they were done with their initial 14-day quarantine at the start of the tour, they be treated as anyone else around Australia in terms of freedom of movement. And with fears now that they would be back in a less porous bubble which is likely to see their travel being limited from hotel to stadium to back upon reaching Brisbane, via Sydney, the Indians are keener to stay away.
"If you look at it, we were quarantining for 14 days in Dubai before landing in Sydney and doing so for another 14 days. That means we were in a hard bubble for nearly a month before coming out. What we don't want now is to quarantine again at the end of the tour," a source in the Indian team told Cricbuzz. Follow up Aussie don't like the idea of playing back 2 back game in Sydney, well you can't blame them as Gabba is strong hold for Australia and Graveyard for Indian team. We prefer not to play back-to-back Tests in Sydney: Wade

They might get bundle up before reaching 300 mark but it was excellent batting performance from Pakistani batmen on green pitch, considering Babar is not playing and they still manage to reach respectable total. Azhar Ali and Mohammad Rizwan are the sole players that played well and the tail end supported them to reach 297 runs, the openers are struggling while playing in green turf and they need to find a good opening pair to be competitive and what happened to Babar Azam as he is the best player in the side. Kyle Jamieson was the standout bowler and it looks like he was the find of the season for New Zealand as a second change bowler and with his huge frame he is troubling the batsman with his awkward length.

About Kyle Jamieson its nothing new mostly standout bowlers or reserved damaged Pakistani batting in history as well but currently I am happy now batting is some improving after arrival of Younas Khan as batting coach hopefully in future we will have some more good from these guys but few issues still hanging around due to poor selection from selectors they never going with merit which is very serious issue now sudden retirment from Muhammad Aamir is also creating serious talks about selection and management hopefully we will able to have some good news about merit policy if they want to improve Pakistan cricket.

NZ is again on top in the 2nd test at christchurch and it seems they will bowl out pakistan under 300 today. Kyle Jamieson bowled a nice spell and took 5 wickets while Southee took 2 wickets. NZ can easily white wash the series with 2-0 win.
Can't you wait for few days before announcing the results ? The match is not in anyone favor as yet. Who knows if NZ batsmen also get out quickly tomorrow ? Back to back boundaries, only 7 runs needed to touch 300
All out on 297, can't reach the psychological figure of 300.

They are collapsing here n there but overall their batters doing excellent job when comparing with India. I remember Kiwis literally demolished Indian batting line up. For Indians Kyle Jamieson was another avatar of Sam Curran.

The whole series was one-sided. So far Pakistan has not won a single match. In the previous Test match, they could not reach 300 runs in any innings. I hope this match they will not be able to make 300 in any innings. Their first innings is over, and they have lost all their wickets for 297 runs. I hope NZ will win this match easily. That's why i am not following this series and also not the srilanka/ south africa one (Srilanka are 5 down for only 88 in the 2nd test). The only series which is interesting at the moment is India Australia one and third test will start on Jan 7. However there are some doubts that indian team may refuse to go to Brisbane to play the test.

This is more sort of a drama by the Indian team. If you look at the history, the indian team has never won a test at the Gabba so its obvious they don't want to go there and lose the test match. I don't think this has anything to do with strict lockdown.

The doubt is regarding the 4th Test and it is highly unlikely India will be travelling to Brisbane as they do not want to undergo hard quarantine once again and CA have to find a solution for that but it will not help Australia as their players want the final Test to be in Brisbane as it is their favorite hunting ground while i am sure the Indian team will avoid going as they have a poor record if i remember correctly and they will use the quarantine as an excuse .

Isn't it a childish approach by the Indians to avoid the defeat because of the bad record history in Brisbane. Even if you have zero winning record in a certain ground, you can still win the match because every day is a new day. Look like its a superstition approach by the Indian team.

Sri Lanka in a lot of trouble against South Africa. They are at 98/6, with Wiaan Mulder and Anrich Nortje having picked up three wickets each. Mulder is just 22 years old and if New Zealand or England can convince him to get a passport with them, then he is going to be such a good asset for them. I wasn't expecting much from Sri Lanka anyway.. so not much surprised.
BTW, is anyone going to argue, if I claim that New Zealand is having the best pace bowling lineup right now? Kyle Jamieson is playing his 6th test match, and so far he has picked up 30 wickets at an average of 14.33. And they have enough depth in their squad, with bowlers such as Neil Wagner, Tim Southee, Trent Boult, Lockie Ferguson and Matt Henry.

How the table turns... if you think about it then this whole situation is quite hilarious from both sides. Few years back Australian media/ Experts / Almost everyone used to say that Indians are scared to play in the Australia but now every one says that they are scared to play in the certain ground. People forget that they are still playing in Australia's home turf be it Gabba, Adelaide, Melbourne or Sydney. BTW, is anyone going to argue, if I claim that New Zealand is having the best pace bowling lineup right now?
No argument when i look at Boult, Southee, Wagner stats

There was a time when they had Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Brett Lee in the playing XI. Before that they had Merv Hughes and Craig McDermott. Even after the McGrath-Warne era, they had legendary bowlers such as Mitchell Johnson and Shaun Tait. But look at the condition right now. The Indian pace/spin bowling attack is much better than that of the Australians.

I don't think Indians are not going to oppose anything which will be decided by the Australian Cricket Board because team India was prepared for this when they entered into Australia so they won't be using the current pandemic as an excuse to avoid playing there but what will happen if the Indian players were denied to enter in that state?

Poor form continues for SL, as in last test match as well they lost badly and the start itself of this test being not great for SL with getting all out in just 157. SA now only trail with just 79 runs and 9 wickets still in hand. So again, chances increases that if they can take lead of 250 as well then SA can win the test match with innings and some runs in this test match too.

Sri Lanka got all out for 157 from 93 for 6, thanks to short cameo by P de Silva. I was planning to bet on this match but luckily my sportsbook is not covering this series. I was expecting Sri Lanka to surprise South Africa like how they did on their last tour. But this time it seems South Africa got new talents to face any unexpected challenges. Mulder is just 22 years old and if New Zealand or England can convince him to get a passport with them, then he is going to be such a good asset for them.
If I remember exactly, European Union and SA government are working on regulation against kolpak deals to prevent draining talents out. BTW, is anyone going to argue, if I claim that New Zealand is having the best pace bowling lineup right now?
How about India? If Natarajan finds his form in tests as well then India may have their best ever pace attack in their history by having options like Bhuvanesh Kumar/Shami/Ishant Sharma/Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj (M Siraj got the 2nd best visiting debut after Mallinga).

~ Rohit Sharma is 33 years old, and till now he has played only 32 test matches (now compare this to 87 matches for Virat Kohli, 79 for Cheteshwar Pujara, and 67 for Ajinkya Rahane). So obviously he is not that experienced in the longer format. But his test record is not that bad. He averages 46.54 with the bat, which is comparable to Pujara/Rahane. It is true that he averages 46.54 in Test matches but if you break down his performance and look at his average outside India it is a mere 26.32 with a highest score of 79 runs which includes 3 ducks. His outstanding performance came when South Africa toured India in 2019 where he score 3 centuries and one was a double century and in his last series against Bangladesh he failed miserably and his average in Australia Rohit Sharma played 10 innings and he was able to cross half century only twice and his average is 31. These are the stats and what difference can he make depends upon how he is able to rebound from injury and rewrite the history books and his below average stats in Test. he was an average player but compared to the young openers who failed miserably then he is the only choice for replacement now.
I would like to see them give more opportunities to Mayank Agarwal and what i spotted is his changed batting stance from his last tour and i noticed this because i was watching some videos in social media and i was able to see someone making a comparison of his different batting stance.

Even if he changed his batting style from this past still he is not successful with scoring runs which is more important than anything in cricket. There are lot of young talent is waiting for years so giving too much if chances even after back to back losses will create chaos in the dressing room. Hope the deserved one will be given chance.

If I remember exactly, European Union and SA government are working on regulation against kolpak deals to prevent draining talents out.
Many of the Kolpak cricketers have already received their British passports, and most of the remaining ones have been selected as overseas players by the county sides. Those who are left out are moving to other countries such as New Zealand and the United States. The recently started Minor League Cricket (MLC) has attracted large number of (ex) South African players to the United States.

The series is now in a 1-1 draw. Both teams will want to win the match in any ways. My bet will be for Australia in the next match. Since they are the host, and they will make the pitch at their convenience. They will get some extra facilities.

If that is the case KL Rahul is the only player to get a chance to play in the current squad while the rest of the players got their chances because some of the players are injured and Virat Kohli taking a parental leave. Rohit Sharma flew to Australia to join the squad even though he is returning from injury shows that the BCCI is not having any other young players that could make a debut for India .
