For the next match, Deepak chahar should be given a chance in test too. He is in superb form.
Its not that simple. Performing well in the ODI format in no way means that your performance will stay the same in the test format. This is the reason why separate squads are chosen for each format for every team. The current Indian test squad is perfect and it will get even better once Bumrah returns in the future which is why I disagree with you here. Chahar needs to gain more experience and take wickets consistently in ODI and T-20 formats. I know that current Indian squad is the best but when will you give your emerging players a chance to play in big matches ? Bangladesh is a weak team and India already won the first match, they should give younger players a chance in the 2nd test. I am not saying specifically to give Chahar a chance but they should introduce some new faces in the next test match.

The bowlers are fit and India have a bigger bench strength than anything other team and Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Ashwin plays only Test matches and when it comes to batsman, Rahane and Pujara only plays the Test format and Agarwal is a new player in top form and Rohit Sharma just got a spot in the Test team as an opener and who should be replaced in your opinion, the only open slots left are Kohli and the wicket keeper slot and Saha only plays the Test format, so how do you bring a balance and who should be left out to give youngsters a chance.

Exactly. Some of the posters feel that the younger players need to be given more chances while I feel that this is not required at present since the current squad is perfect as it is and their home wins record continues to rise thanks to this squad. Why fix what is not broken to begin with? The younger players are being given plenty of chances in ODI and T-20 formats and that is good enough in my opinion.

Completely agree, after decades Indian team reached at this level where each and every player contributing, more importantly winning the games for India. The last thing i want is experiment with the core test team. We can try something with Opening slot and spin department but according to pitch condition only. As of now Indian team need to keep some players with the Test squad according to situation. Prithvi Shaw as back up opener, Hanuma Vihari for middle order or in some extent Shubham Gill, Pant as WC batsman and Kuldeep as spinner.

India can experiment and give opportunities for players especially openers and middle order players to have a good bench strength but that does not mean you should remove an inform player, if there is a slot when some player get injured they can try those players and if they are playing consistently then they will remain in the team, to get in the team now a days is really hard and the challenge to secure the spot is helping everyone to perform to their best.

The Australians have a rotational policy, where they regularly rest their top players once in a while. This prevents injuries due to workload, especially for the pace bowlers. Indian players had a lot of issues with injuries recently. Jasprit Bumrah and Suresh Raina are perfect examples. Even younger players are getting affected and one example is that of Kamlesh Nagarkoti (who has been out of action for almost two years now). A rotational policy could have prevented many of these injuries.

I think there are signs of Indian management doing this since they are kinda resting out major players in T-20's and giving opportunities to youngsters but still I would like to see it implement in other formats as well- ODI and Test. Test also there are mild signs - like Ashwin, Yadav and I. Sharma coming back in recent Bangladesh series. So I feel like slowly they are trying these things out.

Just three more days to go for the first D/N test match in India and looks like the Indian fans are quite excited about it (despite the very one-sided outcome from the first test). This is going to be new for both the teams and Bangladesh will be hoping to take advantage out of it. And once again, toss is going to be extremely important for the match.

By the way we have Same Match MultiBet as well for this match. Check my signature for the link. Talking about India vs Bangladesh, I think this will be a one sided match so any pool will be boring. I am expecting NZ vs ENG series will be a very exciting one. Edit: Some pink ball FAQ's : https://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/28115122/different-pink-ball-test-cricket

True, but I am excited to see how it will play out with the pink ball. I guess tickets would be damn cheap for a night event and this could probably pull in a big crowd due to the pink ball and D/N aspect. However, the match between NZ vs ENG is going to be exciting. I'm still confused about which team to pick for the mutual bet. All are welcome to join Will probably be joining the pool soon though I think there is still a good amount of time left since the NZ vs ENG test begins on 21st. I think I might go with England on this one due to their recent victories.

England does not have a good Test team as all the players are having good strike rate and they are yet to prove that they can stay in the crease for a long time and New Zealand is a much stronger team at home and hence i am confused whom to support and wage a bet in this match. @Royse777 there is no multiple bets in this match in the betting pool.

I don't even know if they use this method in Test Format or in the shorter format of game. Having said that i am certain about one thing, no team want to touch their Core Team in the Test format. Even Aussie didn't change much in recent time except Smith/warner due to Ban. Every management can fit 1-2 new face for every series in the squad but getting into the playing XI is another ball game. As far as i remember Jaspit Bumrah used to skip every T-20 series for quite some time. Suresh Raina got injured during IPL and got kicked out from Indian squad because of his form. he was average Test player anyway so why are we even discussing his name? Nagarkoti didn't played much game before his injury, only World Cup then couple of domestic games. he was 17-18 year old during that time, its unfortunate that he got injured but i think its not because of Work load. shit happens sometime but if you say NCA didn't take care of him after the injury then i can agree with you.

Every management can fit 1-2 new face for every series in the squad but getting into the playing XI is another ball game. I have heard that they have a rotational policy for the fast bowlers and it was evident from the Ashes series as well. Such a policy does not exist for the batsmen and the spin bowlers. But in general, Australia is a side which refrains from changing the playing XI very often. That's why you never see 16 and 17 year olds making their debut for Australia (unlike the case with teams such as Pakistan). India can go with a rotational policy because they have the depth in the pace bowling department to do so. For example, Bumrah was not available due to injury and Umesh got a chance to play. And he did his job very well. Right now it is Shami/Ishant/Umesh and once Bumrah gets fit it will be Bumrah/Shami/Ishant or Bumrah/Shami/Umesh.

Although you are partially correct that NZ is good at their home ground, I disagree that England players can't stay longer time in the crease. I think they have some good test players but bad luck that they are not consistent. Anyway, NZ will be favorite here of course.

You are partially right. Majority of the current English squad have epic strike rates, but there are a couple of players like Joe Root who can stick around for a long time on the field making them great assets in a test match. Anyway, NZ will be favorite here of course.
I don't understand why NZ are favorites here. Their morale would be down after the World Cup and T-20 series blunders this year which is why England will probably win this one too since 2019 is their year after all.

If you compare the players in both the teams, Tom Latham, Henry Nicholls and Kane Williamson are performing consistently for New Zealand in Test matches and you cannot point one player who is consistent for England, Ben Stokes is a good player but he cannot win all the matches, Joe Root was not performing well in Test matches either, the main advantage is Jofra Archer who is playing in his first away match. I don't understand why NZ are favorites here. They have a really strong team in Test matches and hence they are the favorites while England needs to rediscovery their test combination.

New Zealand is difficult to defeat in Test matches, in T20 and ODI England does have a better team and they have one of the best limited over players in the world but in Test matches it is a different story, the entire England team depends on how Joe Root is performing and if he fails the rest of the members like Rory Burns, Dom Sibley, Joe Denly are fairly new members without much experience and odd makers will see those when determining and so is the reason New Zealand is a slight favorite in this match.

I understand that New Zealand has performing well in tests recently, but they lost against a weak Sri Lankan side recently too while England defeated a team like Australia and drew the Ashes thanks to Stokes, Archer etc. On top of all this, they keep losing against England for some reason this year which is why I am expecting a similar result here as I mentioned before. New Zealand can only win if their bowlers bowl remarkably in my opinion.
