Yeah selectors will keep their eyes open, good oppoutunity for young guys to rank up. Dravid -Future Indian Coach- is also there. For ODI this is updated point table. India also lagging behind but they already qualified for the ODI WC so nothing to worry about i guess? They're experimenting so should be okay.

Like every other team India only played a few matches and the rest of the teams that have higher number of games are in the top of the list and there is nothing to worry because there is plenty of time and more tournaments left and India is a strong team and would easily qualify for any World Cup because they generate the most money, even if they loose all the match i doubt India will be left out  .

Even with the very few matches being played, India is close to the selected list. So there is nothing big to discuss on the entry. Now the fight is for Srilanka which could've never thought they'll have such a worse situation.

Sri Lanka needs to somehow find good players when they are playing against India. I recently heard about the comments made by the former Sri Lankan captain but i find it funny because the Sri Lanka batsman are struggling to score runs in the past few series and India sent a full team to England to play the Test series and one team for the ODI and i am expecting India could challenge anyone even with their second string team.

I think Ranatunga is frustrated because he hasn't got a good job at the moment. The media covered his statements and that might have given him some satisfaction. On the part of BCCI, I think that they did the right decision. Players like Kohli and Rohit are not required for a series against Sri Lanka.

The team that was sent by the BCCI to Sri Lanka includes players such as Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Hardik Pandya, Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal and Krunal Pandya. I don't know how Ranatunga can label this term as "second string". Is it mandatory that the Indian team should consist of players like Virat Kohli and Mohammad Shami everytime? The SLCB has responded to Ranatunga's claims and they have announced that they are satisfied with the Indian squad. So if the SLCB doesn't have an issue, why Ranatunga is making so much noise?

Dude, it's Sanath Jayasundara, and not Sanath Jayasuriya. Even I got fooled the first time I saw the news. But then I noticed that in the description there is no reference as the former Sri Lankan captain. Mr. Jayasundara happens to be the former performance analyst for the Sri Lankan team. BTW, did Jayasuriya also made the second string comment? I thought it was just Arjuna Ranatunga. After the Sri Lankan team got thrashed in England, Jayasuriya came up with some scathig comments. But as far as I know, he hasn't spoken about the Indian team that was selected by the BCCI.

Finally ECB made Ben Stokes as a captain for the series, also called 9 new players in the squad. Probably it is going to be a tough series for England cricket team. I have checked the odds at several bookmaker and found that the odds are favourable for Pakistan team.

Not aware of his personal life but had to search a bit and looks like he messed up a lot after his playing days and entered politics and in 2019 the ICC banned him and now that ban is revoked. He was a great player but leaking them because that lady married someone is silly and i am sure after the sex tape leak he might be single forever .

It is not unusual for cricketers to have mental issues. There is a lot of pressure to perform on the field and sometimes it take a toll. One example that comes to my mind right now is that of Monty Panesar (former England spinner). He suffered from severe schizophrenia and paranoia for many years. But after treatment, he seems to be alright now. Marcus Trescothick, Jonathan Trott and Andrew Flintoff are some of the other cricketers who suffered from mental health issues in the past. Even Virat Kohli once admitted that he struggled with depression in 2014.

Good in the sense that they will be playing with a relatively low strength team which makes their chances of winning bright but at the same time if Pakistan still lose the series, then people will more blame them as they are unable to win from B England team.

I am sure many people will be thinking that this news is about the legend Sanath Jayasuriya as most of us only know about this person. It will be better if Sanath Jayasuriya comes on the media and clarifies that that guilty person is not him.

Pakistan is not in a very bad situation, at least when compared to Sri Lanka. So I expect them to put up a credible performance. Unlike the case with Sri Lanka, they still have a number of world class players, such as Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali. Anyway, the first ODI match is scheduled for tomorrow and this series is very important for Pakistan (because it is a part of the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League). England is at the top currently, and they don't need to worry. Pakistan has 40 points from 6 matches till now, and another 10-20 points in this series would be good as far as they are concerned.

English team got talented players in limited over cricket, in this format they can win any where. In tests they're force to reckon with if playing at home condition but average when playing in Australia-NZ. And below average when playing in India. As far as bench strength goes England and India leading without any doubt. Interestingly in last WTC cycle India was the best touring team.

LOL.. it's true. Pakistan is like the most unpredictable team in international cricket. On their day, they will be able to beat teams such as India and Australia. And when they are not in form, they will go down to teams like Ireland and Netherlands. On top of that, they remain heavily overdependent on Babar Azam as far as batting is concerned. They're a lot more stable as far as pace bowling is concerned. Fast bowlers such as Shaheen Afridi are capable of handling the pressure during tough situations. Spin bowling is still a concern, though.

I would say that the gap has increased between the big 3 teams (I would add New Zealand as well) and the rest. But that said, I haven't noticed any sharp reduction in the popularity of the sport in countries such as Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Cricket remains as the most popular sport in South Asia. If you are looking for reasons why the quality of cricket has gone down in these countries, then it has been a topic that was much debated previously. There are a combination of different factors - financial troubles, corruption, lack of quality domestic leagues.etc.
