Also Germany sucks big time vs Dominican Republic.

Yeah, they sorta do...they just lost a close game and are out of the second round.

I was only able to watch the 4th quarter, but Germany except for Schröder seemed lost out there, lack of shooting, nobody can create a shot for himself. They stayed close only because were in the bonus early. Not sure if anyone had Dominican Rep. moving into the second round. What a surprise...these 5min replays by the refs are getting on my nerves already (they kinda messed up a call in the end).

Wow, Germany knocked out of the World Cup after loosing to the Dominican Republic!

One team down and it's only normal for the tournament to have teams go down and some go up or even become champions. Germany needs more high profile players which they lack in this FIBA wc. What I want to see are big names going to drop off the tournament and some lower teams making an upset. In the end it's going to be USA vs Serbia who will fight for the finals.

I haven't been following the FIBA World Cup as I thought I would, but I had a bet on Germany to win and Total Points Over 158.5 because I expected a huge margin victory for the Germans. A huge blow for Germany, but big ups to Dominican Republicans for the victory, let's see how far they can go.

Guys, please dont get me wrong and dont feel offended... but I am surprised you are so disappointed with the Philippine team... I mean, the Philippines have never been a player in world basketball, not even a little?!?

Well I'm one of those disappointed guys with my country's team. The reason for this is that our team does not receives good trainings for players. That's wjat we're lacking plus our players sizes. Serbia's smallest player is 6'5 and for us we even have 5'11 guard. So it's like a 6'5 vs 5'11 a point guard vs a small forward? Kinda not the matchup you wanted to watch.

Besides, the team fell to a bracket that is quite bigger than we thought. Serbia as the number one favor in this world cup is big. I just hope that we can beat angola. But kudos to the PH team, they gave their best specially to bolick and cj perez.

Just a quick reminder on USA VS TURKEY, 47-42 end of 1st half. Ersan Illasova doing the dirty job for Turkey. He sure is getting lots of tough shots and knocking it all down. He's 5/8 in the field with 15 points.

This might turn out to be a costly loss for Greece, i don't doubt they will handle and beat New Zeeland with ease and go into the second round but might get a tougher opponent come 1/4 finals time.  I'm surprised Greece kept Calathes guarding Barbosa in the 4th quarter, he got burned a couple of times...what a game from both veterans (+Verajao).

The game is intense and close. Turkey is doing it surprisingly and they aren't really far from the scores with USA. I haven't followed the track of Turkey but these guys are good, I'm impressed.

So sad to see Greece losing this way.I won't blame Sloukas. Greece had a 10 points lead at the half time and they didn't get advantage of it.
I hope this is going to "wake up" the team as they didn't play very well in the first match and because they won, they thought that they are going to win the world cup.

As the saying goes, the ball is round, so anything can happen. The US has been upset in the past so it is doable. However, the US is sending their best players after their last defeat like more than 10 years ago if I'm not mistaken.

So I expect another heavy loaded stars from the USA to continue their tradition as the basketball dominant country.

It’s been too much luck for Greece that time(but of course the Greek team is really good)while the US experienced bad shooting and misunderstanding in plays so the Greece take home the title as we already know USA is very upset with this decision so lets expect a total dominance from their Dream Team

At the start Yes turkey always go along the scores but whe 2nd half comes USA started to dominate the game and ends the Turkish from  91-116 a 25 points deficit for the USA to bag the win and moves another level

Unreal scenes from the United States vs Turkey match. No one expected it to be so close. The match went in to overtime, and somehow US won the match by a whisker. But I would say one thing after watching the match... I would no longer rate US as the favorites to win the tournament. IMO, this world cup would be won by Serbia.

What a close game! US won leading a single point from the overtime. Turkey fought hard and it's really amazing that they almost won this, but luckily US snatched it. Watching  this game will give other competitive teams to be inspired and play their very best.

Team US needs to add more with their defensive strategy, facing bigger players with shooting abilities will be a big concern to work out.

I really didn't expected Dominicans to beat Germany at all, they have played very tough basketball and that made the all difference.

Germany is obviously consisting of players who came here from their teams to just play and go back, Dominicans looked like they were here as the main thing, like they worked for this all season, and it showed early on because they played with Vargas and inside with some bullying and that kept up all game which in the end had a fatigue affect on Germans who didn't expected such thing.

Aside from that Australia game was a bit shocking, I was expecting them to destroy Senegal but Senegal looked like they are quite the athletes, I mean talent wise it wasn't even close but Senegal just ran the whole court for all game and that tired Australia.

USA doesn't seem to play with prudence.
We are still on the stages round when misktaes can  be forgiven.
But cosindering a fact that more tough games are about to come, USA will not have the same luck. If this bad game had happened against Serbia or Spain then USA would have lost.

The Americans gave first priority to the NBA and send a second string side to the world cup. And to tell the truth, NBA seems more competitive than the world cup. We don't get to see too many one sided matches in the NBA. But then, the purpose of the world cup is different. The aim is to globalize the game and highlight its diversity.
