My question is, which conference will be suspended if it will be implemented that the two conference only will played in this season?
The Philippine cup has just started, so it means this conference will implemented? do they have a final words already about this?
As for the PBA's management final decision, there is no official announcement yet.
But if I will answer that based on my own view, the All-Filipino Conference can be canceled for good since it just started and continue to the next conference instead
(Commissioners Cup - around June). But knowing the current Philippine medical status, it's impossible to fully control the pandemic virus within just a 2-3 month period. We might see a decline in the numbers of confirmed cases and an increase to recovery in the following weeks but to fully execute the PBA comeback, it needs at least 100% assurance that it's now safe to social gather.
Now, if we add another 3 months and let's say the virus was totally controlled
(I hope so here in PH), PBA can now proceed to the last conference which is the Governor's Cup instead
(officially commences at around the month of September), canceling totally the first 2 conferences.
Bottom line:
Honestly, canceling the whole season may not actually harm the current standing since All-Filipino, the first conference of the season has just started
(only a single game played). Not difficult to implement it unlike in NBA where they are now in 3/4 of the season and just around 20 games left before the playoffs. As for the contract, they can adjust it instead as players organization should already aware of that.
