This just shows how much of a snake oil salesman Craig Wright is, because the real Satoshi had a big issue with governments giving huge bailouts to Banks, so why would he suddenly support governments taking control over the technology that he created to stop centralized entities messing with global economics?

Satoshi left because he handed Bitcoin over to the "people" and not to some centralized controlled entity that would destroy his creation with politically motivated agendas.  Roll Eyes

Craig Wright might even be working with the governments to bring down Bitcoin.  Roll Eyes

So is he saying that he is wiling to face the US law makers as well when summon? I mean he is Satoshi isn't it? LOL. CSW strikes again, he needed to say something to stay relevant, and with this statement, it really shows that he is not the creator of Bitcoin.

I mean you create something that people wanted and then you will suddenly gave it up to the government. C'mon Craig, you have been exposed big time already, all you have to do is just not open your mouth because you are just spewing bullshit around and you really lost your case to the crypto community.

Whether we like it or not, the government are taking over because they would make sure all transactions within the space is well complied by their design rules and policies. The privacy that we once dream will not anymore fully enjoyed by us since everyone are required to comply with the KYC and that is the part where they will know who are the users of bitcoin and how much they owned.

I'm not sure whether it's sarcasm (since government can't attempt hostile takeover to all nodes/miners easily) or he actually meant it.
I bet he'll say that he consider letting government take over Bitcoin Tongue

Craig and sarcasm don't go well together.

The way he meant it is that he doesn't worry about anyone taking it over because the Bitcoin, ahum SV protocol will be locked down. The idea is that the protocol can only be altered to fix bugs and whatnot. This whole idea is just a bunch of garbage with how Craig controls the whole protocol; without craig there is no SV and he can do with it whatever he wants, which clearly shows.

The thing however is that the SV camp is quite serious about making sure people abide by the law and develop applications on top of their shitcoin so that it will be easier for the government to collect taxes and whatnot. This is particularly funny because Craig himself was (perhaps still is) entangled in problems with the Australian tax department.

they aren't "taking over" anything. governments can try to control the fiat onramps, but we can avoid those entirely. or otherwise we can use coinjoin/mixers to obfuscate our wallets and prevent analysis beyond what we send in/out of exchanges.

Australian businessman Craig Wright, which claims to be “Bitcoin creator” published a post stating that there is no concern about the government taking over Bitcoin. In the last manifesto, he spoke about the creation of Bitcoin and its progress since 2009.

this word: " businessman "... say exactly what faketoshi is, and as a businessman he won't want to have problems with the US Senate, the US government and the US regulators. The aim of faketoshi is to have profits, fame and power ... he saw bitcoin as a means of his being able to reach the top of fame and power. It's like he's a big corporation and is defending his own interest

Here:

“In 2009, there was practically no value at any point to Bitcoin other than a promise of the future… The dream was not terribly valuable at the time, and many people failed to adequately protect the Bitcoin that they were mining.”

he talks like a businessman and not like someone visionary who he was supposed to be if he were true satoshi

If he means Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies in general will be controlled in terms of proper regulation then I am also with him. Its our only way to be generally accepted by the community and our desire for mass adoption would go straightforward from that point on. For a man who has a strong ambition to be Nakamoto I think this is one of his statements that I won't laugh at.

There's KYC in exchange and even if we use mixers, we will still all end up in exchanges or our local exchange to exchange with fiat.
We can enjoy the privacy if Bitcoin will be widely accepted all over the world and accepted in small transaction like our basic needs, and we know that won't happen since transaction fee is really high for small transactions, maybe if LN will be supported it would help but will take time though.

Of course, Craig Wright not concern at all in case the government can make a hostile actions against the use and proliferation of Bitcoin as he has already his own cryptocurrency platform and he got the money that he wanted in the first place. Now, it would be a different story of course if the government will be taking over what he owned. I wonder what kind of reaction he can have, just in case. The government can regulate the use of and the people around Bitcoin but I don't think it can really touch Bitcoin itself.

I am looking forward for the time when personalities like this man and others similar like him (their minions too) would stop to be given unnecessary space and time in the world of cryptocurrency because we already have so many frauds, fakes and deceits in this world there is no need to have another one.
