As you know, we already lost one local merit source in our local board and it will be great to have other Croatian member as merit source.
You are well respected member in our local community and I'm sure that everybody will support your application for merit source.

He is a source for too long, not at the start of merit system, but within very early months after merit system kicked in. I guess he was selected as merit source at the second wave of merit source allocation.
I did not saved data, but it seems after the second wave of merit source allocation, total merit sources increased to around 123, that was stable for months.

....They can create new smerit out of nothing,......I encourage people to give merit to posts that are objectively....Of that, a certain amount (less than the usual half) is spendable. The spendable amount was calculated based....have any spendable merit.....

If someone sends you 1 merit, the 0.5 sMerit is not wasted; it is just not shown until you get another merit point.

LOL I think theymos himself was confuse when to use merits and when to use sMerits :-)

If those posts were in English, I'd probably merit them myself--I do trust your judgement, marlboroza, but I like to be able to read any post I'm going to give merits to.

No problems that I can see asking Theymos for a sMerit topping-up.  I had to do it once myself when I ran out of source and earned sMerits.  Since then I've been a bit conservative about handing them out, along with the ever-present problem of actually finding good posts to merit. 

I think there are likely some posts of marlboroza's that I never gave merit to but which deserved it, so I'm going to just do it the lazy way and merit the OP here.

I usually run out of merits immediately after I receive them. It sucks to click "merit" button, knowing there should be few merits and it says 0 merit. And tomorrow I want to merit post which I couldn't and again, it says 0 merit. And third day I get 2 merits, I spend them, see good post and again I have to wait day or two to get, I don't know, 1 or 2 merits.

He is asking for source merit, you are a little bit misunderstood on this. smerits are the ones people accumulate by receiving merits. source merits are given by theymos to merit sources.

Ugh.  Marlboroza makes very good posts overall, and I'm not circle-jerking him here by giving him a few merits, which I'm pretty sure he'll distribute better than I can at the moment.  I haven't been meriting marlboroza's posts much because he's a Legendary member and I usually try to merit lower-ranked ones (lately that hasn't been working out too well, though).  As I mentioned, I would have merited the posts he linked to, but they're not in a language I can read.

If marlboroza isn't a source, he probably should get that 'honor' from Theymos.  At the very least in this thread he's showing that he cares about the merit system and is looking to reward what he thinks are good posts.  How much merit have you distributed, xolxol?

I can only say that many members are trying not to merit posts from legendary ranked members. Few months ago we had little discussion in our local, one member said something like "legendary members don't need merits", which is, I believe, wrong way of thinking.

The OP is a merit source and not just that a legendary member so there would not be much selfish interest from his path seeking for merit to gain smerit to be spent on deserving post.
That's commitment to duty he could easily just ignore the posts.
Encouraging posters to keep on making reasonable post is great.
Giving Merit to post is not to be completely left to merit source they can only do their bit in this large forum.
