Hi!
I am beginner in cryptocurrency world.

Blockchain.com from e-mail <btc.luxembourg@pm.me> wrote me:

We would like to note that for successful completion of the transfer you will need to pay 10% tax in our jurisdiction to complete the transaction. We see that you have paid 6% in the U.S. Therefore, you will need to pay the remaining 4%, which is equal to 0.57782 BTC.
Wallet for tax pay is 332tXJtwHnvt38hhHoTEsezQbtJSMPu3Yy.

I not understand why do I have to pay tax on a transaction from one of my wallets to another?

After paying the tax, I received a second statement.

Good evening. We try to act in your best interest.
We are not able to send money to your wallet with the current purpose of payment, because it can cause a lot of problems and questions from the currency control.
We will cancel the funds to get them back to the sender. Repeat the request to transfer funds with another payment purpose (return on investment, buy/sell bitcoins). In this case, we will be able to make a quick payment.

You can  help me understand this situation?

Thank You.

You can't pay tax in bitcoin and it would be stupid for companies to collect it so no that certainly isn't blockchain.com. (you generally pay taxes on fiat equivelant though).

Check the site you've been using too and I'd suggest moving your coins somewhere else (perhaps electrum.org) electrum is my preferred wallet, its lightweight and adaptable.

Don't believe an email. An email can be sent using any script you do not need to have any email at all plus this email does not seems to have any connection with Blockchain.com

You are simply wasting your time. No exchange or wallet is going to ask you to pay your tax.

Check the site you've been using too and I'd suggest moving your coins somewhere else (perhaps electrum.org) electrum is my preferred wallet, its lightweight and adaptable.
I doubt in that site there are any coins at all.

Raivo100, someone is get your e-mail and it is trying to scam you, so best thing is to ignore that e-mail and mark it as spam if your e-mail provider is provide such option. I also get e-mails from people who pretend to be from blockchain.com or some crypto exchange, but this is because I have one e-mail which is open to public and therefore I get lot of spam.

As other say, no one can ask you to pay tax in Bitcoin via e-mail, only your country tax service can ask you to pay legal tax, and they not send e-mails from some suspicious domains.

Based on address transactions, they manage to scam 2 person for total 0.76755 BTC, there is no need for you to become third.

It looks like Raivo100 paid 0.57782 BTC on July 10 already.

Raivo100, you got scammed!, and now they're asking for more money as you're a confirmed target to rip off Sad

Based on address transactions, they manage to scam 2 person for total 0.76755 BTC, there is no need for you to become third.
Look at the amount, I'm pretty sure OP is one of them already.

Well if this is the case then OP lost more money.

Quote
We would like to note that for successful completion of the transfer you will need to pay 10% tax in our jurisdiction to complete the transaction. We see that you have paid 6% in the U.S. Therefore, you will need to pay the remaining 4%, which is equal to 0.57782 BTC.
Wallet for tax pay is 332tXJtwHnvt38hhHoTEsezQbtJSMPu3Yy.

I assume OP had ~14.45BTC
4% is 0.57782
6% is 0.867

All together OP lost ~1.44482BTC if my calculation is correct.

Now if this is true then, I suspect it's someone who is close to OP tried this scam attempt. He knew OP had the BTC. He then had to come up with a plan to scam him a portion.

You are completely right, OP is pay that scam tax, and he is just asking why he need to pay more. It's amazing how naive people can be and be deceived by such cheap fraud. But we see similar way of collecting taxes via crypto ATMs in Australia and in Canada.

After paying the tax, I received a second statement.
