Galaxia is a CryptoNote cryptocurrency using the self-developed CNX proof of work algorithm designed to make CPU mining roughly equally efficient and computational hard for specialized hardware like Gpus or Asics. We have a new emission function that is configured differently and allow us to change the underlying emission over time smoothly. Configurations can ensure a more stable emission rate which will, in turn, improve anonymity for all miners in the network.

Native SSL
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a technology to ensure data you send stays a secret between you and your peer. Even if you start multiple services on the same computer and only connect them locally third-party applications are able to read your messages if you do not use SSL. For that reason, Galaxia embedded native support for SSL to enable every user to secure their data and wallets with much less effort than required without it.

P2P Banning
P2P (peer-to-peer) is an architecture used to organize the workload of the blockchain, or the distribution of new information, to all peers connected to the blockchain. In case of an attack, one or multiple peers may try to harm the network. Galaxia has built-in sanity checks to detect those attacks and automatically ban them from connecting to your local instance. This makes the network more stable and secure.

Static Rewards
To ensure further development and support of a blockchain it is common to pay out the initial founders with an initial amount of coins. This is often referred to as a premise. It is up to the founders how they invest these coins for the betterment of the blockchain. This introduces some potential risk to the community. For example, the founder may not invest the coins in the interest of the community to enhance the technology and tries to pay out himself once the cryptocurrency is tradable on an exchange. As a result, the community must have a high level of trust in the founder depending on him acting fairly with the responsibilities given. To help aide in this Galaxia introduces the concept of static rewards. This will eliminate these risks giving more power to the community ensuring continuous progress of the blockchain development.

Timeline

2018
Q4 – Hello Xi
The Galaxia project was initiated with the vision of the decentralization of blockchains itself while retaining compatibility.

2019
Q1 – Staging Network
More than 1’400 warnings were resolved and multiple security issues had been fixed, while also improving security with the introduction of new features like SSL and firewalls.
Thanks to the great contribution of our community and the usage of the crash reports we were able to successfully launch the staging network and passed multiple stress tests and forking tests with ease.

Q3 – Launch
With the experience of the staging network, as well as helping other projects from the TRTL codebase with security fixes, Galaxia received some final touches and is finally ready for production.

Q4 – Q1/2020 - Decentralized Pools/Ponds
Ponds will enable everyone to share rewards based on computational power rather than luck.
Galaxia will penalize ponds with too much hash rate enforcing a decentralized miner community while lowering the risk of centralization.

some of my favorite features beside the  new secure  and modular designed architecture:
the wallet works with integrated daemon e.g on a seperate system
the miner threads can be readjusted on the fly
gpu and asic hard
actually a cpu only coin poolless  at least for a while ;-) so anyone can get some blocks  with solomining

The Galaxia team is pleased to announce, final preparations and tests are almost done on the new network and soon official launch will be announced with more information on the GXI Network.

Ongoing GLX network is scheduled to be shut down on the 28th of February 00:00 UTC Time. Mining can continue on this chain until 28th.
NOTE: Any coin mined afterward will not be swapped. Please save your GLX wallet keys to participate in the future swap.
