This is another thing that bring a good and use the Bitcoin for good. A lots of thigs are keep on coming the Bitcoin way but everything has its reason. And now, for this kind of activity or should I rather call, a project for bringing water to the people of Ethiopia, is a help that should be keep on doing using the presence of Bitcoin if that what can resolve for it.
Another good news for everyone that will change our world, it will create crypto adoption in that country a will be a big help in crypto too. Little by little we are growing too fast, with this we are creating a world that changes everything , innovation and widely used will make Bitcoin adoption grow faster.
Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Run for Water is an organization that has been involved in a movement that has activated thousands of people to become ambassadors, creating awareness about global water-drinking conditions. Fighting for the basic right that everyone is entitled to clean and accessible drinking water Ethiopia, Africa is Run for Water’s first destination. For 12 years, over 100,000 lives in 50 plus communities have been changed by the simple gift of clean water, reducing and preventing illness and death. As these communities are empowered to thrive independently, they are led out of injustice and poverty

Run for Water was seeking innovative ways to spread its reach and awareness more globally, and discovered the huge benefits of bitcoin for philanthropic purposes. Since December 2018, Run for Water has partnered with BitGive to host the fundraising campaign on GiveTrack- BitGive’s first non-profit Bitcoin Donation Platform. The opportunity to fundraise in bitcoin on the platform allows us to enhance transparency by educating donors with user-friendly and high-level evidence-based reporting.

We are honoured to be working with the entire team at BitGive, and very excited to expand to a global and digital network that is using technology and innovation as a force for social impact!

For over a decade, Run for Water has fundraised over $3 million dollars and has helped tens of thousands of people by bringing clean water to Ethiopian villages. This project is specifically focused on helping the community of Waraba by providing an underground freshwater spring-well. Currently, the community is using the local river as a water source, causing illness and serious water-borne diseases that are particularly aggressive with children. This will be the first project partnering with BitGive in the hopes of funding the entire clean water project utilising bitcoin and blockchain technology.

We've started the Waraba development and will be providing updates on progress shortly! While we have some great traction with the campaign thus far, we still need the crypto community's help in reaching our goal.

Please check out the Waraba project on GiveTrack and donate today: https://www.givetrack.org/project-details/9/Water-for-Waraba

Thank you for your support, and for helping us be part of this revolution in philanthropy!

I love seeing projects like this, they show how much crypto can truly help. No talk about the price, speed, or anything like that, just an effort to solve a major issue and help someone who needs it.

I think we need to stop drawing water from under the ground, it is causing some major problems, and increasing desertification. The Chinese are starting to provide desalination plants, and this would seem to be a better solution. It provides a pretty marginal reduction in sea levels, but more importantly, it starts to replace the groundwater, and can lead to reforestation if managed correctly.

This is a great suggestion and environment-friendly, too. This is also what some developed countries are doing such as Singapore. The problem with this is that it costs too much for a charity organization which is highly dependent on donors. For sure, they cannot handle the costs for such an ambitious yet highly preferred option, especially if their target countries are located within the central parts of Africa. It would be impossible. Governments have the resources though to undertake such desalination projects.

I noticed that Bitcoin and crypto is rising as an alternative form of donation for charities such as this. I wish this project the best of success in the future. Africa really needs our care and attention.

You just need to make sure you have people you can trust on the other end who are receiving the bitcoin. The good thing about it is that you will know where the funds are going since it will be recorded on the blockchain for all to see.

It is good to see bitcoin making differences in peoples lives all over the world. This is what happened when we take the power from greedy banks and governments. We need more positive things like this for the media to see. THough the media would rather hear about the ugly since that is what sells best unfortenetly.

I know that people would love to see Bitcoin help people in Africa and south America, but we shouldn't blindly follow what news outlets report about.... so much adoption happening according to them, yet no signs of evidence.
LBC is not the only way to trade BTC, is it? There are other popular exchanges available for trading in Africa which decent volumes last I checked. Unstable economies are helping improve adoption there.

Places like Venezuela in particular are dependent on BTC in a big way thanks to economic issues there.

Adoption is rising in 3rd world countries slowly and steadily, but the adoption rates need to rise rapidly (Especially in big countries like India and China) in order to help BTC achieve mainstream popularity in the future.

Wow. I have seen lots of campaigns and running organizations that does something great but this is the first time for me to see that Bitcoin did somethinf wonderful for people of less privileged. This is the campaign that really attracts donations and call out for kind hearted people in the crypto world. Now we can see that the discussions we have and the signature or other campaigns can not be the only product of Bitcoin but also this kind of blessing. It adds even more perfume to Bitcoin's name and most importantly, people are given safe and potable water for their daily consumption.
