While I do agree that no team should underestimate their opponents, Sevilla is 9th in the league right now and while doing better than last year on paper, they are still not a good team. Real Madrid should have an easy time beating Sevilla and if they do not, then the problems at Madrid must be bigger than what it is, I think it's quite important to notice that we are dealing with something much worse. This is why Real do not look like they will have that kind of trouble and will probably win.

I have seen many people doubting today's match, even if Real Madrid does not lose to Sevilla, how much chance they have of winning. However, after the first half, it is now clear that Real Madrid is in a fluid, dominating form, yet Sevilla is defending adequately.
However, in the meantime, J. Bellingham has been able to score the first goal through a wonderful assist from Rodrygo and Real Madrid is leading by at least 1 score, and this is basically a plus point for them.

In the build up play Real Madrid and Sevilla has been same even if real Madrid has the better of the possession.
The Fans don't want to see a struggle win over Sevilla.

Bellingham heads it home and Rodrygo with the assist for the opening goal in the game. I'm very surprised because for the first time Real Madrid went 29 whole minutes before committing it's ever foul on the night. Watching the game and I was like, what's happening, why hasn't Real Madrid committed any foul yet. No much talking points or highlight so far though, I will stick around for the second half to see how it goes.

They have resumed second half and both Real Madrid and Sevilla are playing a wonderful game. Kylian Mbappe have many big chances but he keep missing them, and same goes to Sevilla they've been wasting chances. Despite Real Madrid have their defenders injured their defense still look better because I first thought Sevilla will easily to penetrate Real Madrid defense but that looks difficult. Dean Huijsen is performing better because he coordinates their back well.

I think the Real Madrid vs Sevilla match will be a difficult one.
I’ve already said that I don’t like Real Madrid’s performance and the way they are playing, and I believe they will struggle against Sevilla.
There is a strong chance that Real Madrid will drop points and if they do, I think they will be completely out of the title race.

The match have started and the scoreline is still draw, but I also don't have confidence that Real Madrid will win this match because Sevilla will be strong to do everything possible to win this game. And another thing that is going to affect Real Madrid in this match is that, most of their defenders are injured and Sevilla would like to use that advantage over Real Madrid. I just hope Xabi Alonso tactics help them to secure victory or to maintain draw in this match.

Jude Bellingham added a goal to Real Madrid's tally in this half, I think it would have been smoother in the second half until the game was over as what Real Madrid played was pretty good even though they had a bit of rigidity in their strategy, the first shot on goal by Jude and the goal, I want to say that Seviilla are good.

In the second half Rea; Madrid could have been more productive, I'm hoping for more than 3 goals to win tonight's game, if Madrid can win they'll be able to stay close to the top of the table.

It's going to be really hard for them to turn things around. Real Madrid had many advantages now which included playing at home, being the better team and now Servilla is down to 9 men. I believe they'll now go on full defensive while real Madrid try to break their defense. There would be more goals in this match or it ends like this. I don't see any magic to be performed by Servilla to get even a draw from this match.

Unfortunately Real Madrid could not let Sevilla lose by one goal they made it two to completely seal the victory, Sevilla was too rough in the game they recorded 3 yellow cards before 40 minutes which was a bad sign for the team knowing that it's going to affect them in the game and finally they were given red cards even when they are losing there's no way they can survive it so it's all over for the team they lost the game.

Madrid's last match before the new year. Madrid managed to win convincingly. Although haters might say it was a penalty goal. Of course, this will make the Madrid players enjoy their break with a happier feeling. From the beginning, I was very optimistic that Madrid could get 3 points. Today they won again and ensured that the winning trend continues to strengthen. Madrid must remain consistent in order to keep chasing Barcelona's points and hope that Barcelona slips. Although there are still many matches left, this situation will certainly make things even more interesting because matches are always difficult to predict the outcome.

It is never easy with them too, as we can see how they fought for this win, congrats to them for the victory, at least real Madrid have already secured the 3 points, to draw the gap a little closer to Barcelona. It is left for Barcelona not to drop any points, because of they do, there will be a big problem and some closeness of the gap they have already. So they can not afford to lose or to drop any points. For today's game we shall say go game for real Madrid, we all have to say they really played a little better today. This is the spirit to have always, when they want to play any match.

Jude Bellingham net the first goal and assist from Rodrigo, and the second goal was penalty kick, Rodrygo was foul in the eighteen yard box and Kylian Mbappe took the penalty and converted to goal. Despite Sevilla red cards they still played very good game, I knew the first red card affected Sevilla in this game but you won't even notice because they played like they have their squads completed.

Barcelona led by four points but Real Madrid have now closed the gap, and it remains just one point. Barcelona have crucial match to play with Villarreal tomorrow but I trust Hansi Flick to get the victory over them.

From the start, Sevilla didn't have a big chance of winning this match, in terms of game alone it was in a different class, and coupled with them playing at Real Madrid's home ground, it only made their chances seem so small. even though in this match Madrid didn't play very well, Madrid was still able to control the match and take advantage of various opportunities well, it's just that they should be able to come out with better results than this, but these results can still be accepted by looking at their performance which has been somewhat less consistent in the recent time. and Real Madrid managed to close 2025 with a win, which was very good, and hopefully in 2026 they can perform better.

Very correct to say, this was a big win for Real Madrid, as they need to celebrate this, they really needed the point to close the gap between Barcelona. Although I will say it will not be an easy one. Barcelona will be facing Villarreal, and I'm not taking this game so serious, because for what I know and how I see the way Barcelona play, I think they will get a total dominance and a win from this game, no doubt about that, except Hansi flick decide to change or rotate the squad, but I believe he is not going to, because they will do anything as possible to get the win and get back to the initial point difference.

I also agree with what you said. If there hadn't been a red card in the second half before the red card against the Sevilla coach, the result might have been slightly different, although I don't think Sevilla would have won that match. It seems Real Madrid still haven't found a tactic that really works to give themselves an edge against less powerful teams like Sevilla. In future matches, Real Madrid still needs to improve their performance to achieve a much different result than today, even though today's home game was a win for Real Madrid.

Even, Real Madrid has the advantage after one of Sevilla players got the red card, Real Madrid failed to push their attacking. It was just lucky that Real Madrid can get a penalty kick and Mbappe converted it to be another goal. TBH, I'm not really satisfied with Real Madrid performance although they could win the match. For me, there is no significant change with Real Madrid performance in the previous match. It isn't a good thing for Real Madrid, they must improve their game if they still have an intention to return to the 1st place.

Real Madrid didn't dominate the game as much as you wanted to see but does that change the fact that they were the better team on the the pitch? Absolutely no. Real Madrid had more chances than Sevilla and should've bottled it long before Kylian Mbappe's if they were clinical enough. Xabi Alonso hasn't been playing exciting football with his men and that's troubling for us as Real Madrid fans. I just hope he'll be able to improve his tactical approach so Real Madrid can perform better.

For Kylian Mbappe who equalled Cristiano Ronaldo's record as the player with the most number of goals in a calendar year, it was a milestone achievement for the France national team captain who did hit the "Siiiuuuuu" celebration in honour of Ronaldo who's a Real Madrid legend.
