I would rather have Frenkie De Jong retained than going all out for Lewandowski to be honest, Barcelona didn't just pay as much as they just last season for Ferran Torres just have him probably become the second option upfront, Maybe not as effective as Lewandowski would be but Barcelona have multiple players that can fill up the centre forward position, while not too many options that are as dynamic as De Jong that can play in several position in the midfield, and is still pretty much a very young player, regardless of what they get in profit as difference from what they paid for him initially it's still going to be a loss for Barcelona imho.

In that article they describe how Barcelona is probably going to raise 700 million Euro. I agree it is crazy when it comes to either solvency or insolvency in the Spanish league. We know the reason is they need big money to accommodate enough funds for their targets in this transfer window. Since Man United is really serious to get Frenkie, Barcelona becomes more confident to set a high price for Frenkie's transfer fees. I think Man United did a bad strategy to get this player. Man United should target another top midfielder with the same position as Frenkie to weaken Barcelona stance.

Xavi Hernandez mist have been in contact with the Polish International, speculations wouldn't have gone round if he  wasn't needed by Barcelona. But if he Xavi Hernandez really wants Lewandoski then the deal will be done in little or no time.
Yeah they have players who can feel that space up, but who the coach wants matters,and Lewandoski should, all you have to do is create good chances for him and boom, that's the goal. Memphis Depay should leave coz I doubt if he will get enough game time next season.

Manchester United are really in a haste to secure frenkie dejong deal, perhaps Barcelona really want a huge amount of money before the deal can be finalized. Perhaps Barcelona really pledge alot of money on this player, as in 85 million euros is too expensive for a player like dejong. Dortmund are considering to accept only offers which are at least 120 million euros seemingly. Jude Bellingham is a wonderful young talent now certainly and Dortmund don't want to lose him at the same time with Haaland. If he was 27 or even 30 years old, paying close to 50 million would have made a lot more sense to me but now it doesn’t really make any sense. For 50 million I think Barcelona will be able to find younger players. And they will be able to give their service for a longer time to Barcelona than Lewandowski. But I have to agree that the play style of Robert Lewandowski is going to help Barcelona a lot.

Benzema's wonderful season started to make me think like whether he will be the winner of Ballon d'Or also. It's true what you say, maybe this is just a first step to stabilize their game first before they get ready for something they prepare for the future. It's a good move in my opinion when they want to do that, because if they don't improve the existing squad first, it will be more risky if they put young players in.
