Very rough season for Atl.Madrid but also for Simeone as it seems they will struggle to get those European spots and this year the battle is way more tight than the previous years. Today they lost against Mallorca and Atl.Madrid tried to be offensive but as long as you don't have a style designed for offensive football , you won't score a lot and that's exactly what is happening with them this year...they even win or they lose lately and victories seems further and further away from them. Maybe last year with Simeone ? Juve next destination ? I could see this happening. 

The whole question is whether Juventus will be able to pay Diego Simeone the money that Atletico Madrid pays him, without forgetting that then Juventus will have to find funds to pay a penalty for the termination of the contract with Massimiliano Allegri. However, if the results of Atletico Madrid also continue to roll downhill, then the club's management will really have to think about parting with a specialist, despite all their assurances of the coach's support. They look to have a problem in the squad. Atletico now is different from Atletico before, Morata looks barren while Griezman can't do anything throughout the game. So, I think Simone must change all schemes from 4-4-2 to another formation to give many ball supplies in front, seems to look difficult because they don't have a player specially playmaker.

Nice, mallorca seems doing pretty well during several matches against villareal and currently atletico madrid. The bad result for atletico madrid caused by it was also getting draw before. Mallorca did better in the execution for the chance. It's muriqi who has been helping mallorca to get full points.
The match being domnated by atletico but the fact was telling us about the truth if only a team who can make a goal who will be winning in the match. Atletico got so many ball possessions against mallorca. it has 17 shots but only 5 on targer unlike mallorca with only 3 shots on target and 1 became a goal.

They had a very bad match that I did not expect it to happen.

Atletico Madrid will get more issues if in the next summer transfer, they lose more important players. At least their position in La Liga is still acceptable but they must keep it up to finish this season at least in top four. A ticket to play in Champions League 2023 - 2024 will help the club receives good income from television rights, ticket selling, jersey selling, etc.

Griezman lost best time of his career in Barcelona and we saw so many similar cases: Shevchenko in Chelsea, Kaka in Real Madrid, Torres in Chelsea and more. These players were no longer able to get their best performances back after losing it. It can be because of injuries, unwell fitness or ageing.

I am not doubtful that Griezman is affected more by his age. He is not too old but ageing has its effect, small or big, it always has.

Morata has never been a top striker and he is more favorite with a position in between of a striker and a player maker. He is also bad in coping with pressure on his shoulders. His best performance is when he played in Turin without too much expectation and pressure. He failed in Real Madrid and Chelsea when those clubs put too much pressure on him.

None underrated mallorca but some people saw atletico has better statistic and possibility to win in the match but since luck was also playing a lot to determine the result from the match and that's why mallorca was able to winning the match.

It can be seen from the statistic if atletico has been dominating everything over mallorca but since atletico was not lucky enough against mallorca and it got zero point. The position of atletico madrid become even worst.

It seems like atletico madrid must think to sacking its coach and then replace it with a better coach. I don't know why this club is always rely with diego simeone while there are bunch of coach with so many capabilities available in the market.

Atletico never win since it was against cadiz. The team with under performance must not be taken as an easy opponent to be defeated too.

In the Mallorca vs Atlético Madrid match I expected Atlético Madrid to win. But due to their poor performance, they lost the match. Mallorca scored a goal in the first 16 minutes of the game. After that, no other team could score. But the game was over.  On the other hand, Atlético Madrid tried hard to equalize the goal but to no avail they could not score any goals. If they scored a goal the match would have been a draw.

Many people predicted for the favour of Atletico Madrid to defeat Mallorca 2-0 but the match turned for the favour of Mallorca to defeated Atletico Madrid 1-0. Atletico Madrid really demonstrated well in the second half, after Mallorca scored one goal in 16 minutes in the first half but they try to make the match draw 1-1 in the second half but Mallorca defenders made the match difficult for their strikers not to have access to their goalpost through out the match. I think, Atletico Madrid coach need to work on their defense before their next match, because their defense was not too strong in this match that gave Mallorca opportunity to achieved victory from the match.

I do not feel they have a problem with their squad or the formation, what i feel is that they have come to a time that the owners have to change the manager of the team, Simeone has done enough for them but he may have arrived at a period that his tactics can no longer work on the team, he isn't the only manager that this kind of thing has happened to, when it happens they either resign and take a leave or they are fired, it does not mean that the coach isn't good, but he may now have been so predictable in that team that he must move to another one and work with new players. Simeone has been a very successful manager for the club, but if he remains there i cannot see them making any progress, rather they will continue to lose games and may not finish in the top four.

Here we cannot look at a single rival and say Atlético lost and the small team won, the games are very punctual and statistics do not always dominate, we have to look at the rhythm of games in the short term.

 Mallorca had just won (Vil 0x2) and Atlético did not have a good performance (1x1), for it round 14 I wanted to put the 1-0 but the statistics made me give in to a draw.

In this match Atletico Madrid seemed confused and didn't know how to score goals, they were able to control the match and excel in terms of shot attempts but none of the opportunities they got were successfully used as goals.

Mallorca can really win this match which of course is a big improvement for Mallorca, or maybe Atletico are in a slump. Because with this defeat, Atletico went through five matches in all competitions without a win, and it looks like it will be a serious concern for Atletico.

Diego Simeone has been at Atletico for more than a decade and should be able to return to Atletico's best form quickly, but I don't completely blame Diego Simeone either.

Without even going to the history, it's understandable that  any small club can win the bigger at any point in time, because what's really concern in football is the strength of the players it's not by the players who are in the bigger club, the performance of players gives winning any matches irrespective of the club in particular. Sometimes when I'm predicting a match, what i consider before concluding the strength of the match is the featuring of the players in both sides of the clubs. Atletico performance is was not in good conduct as many people anticipated or expected.

It looked like Real Sociedad were unable to score again and it was a good defense by Sevilla in the second half. Indeed, there is no other choice for Sevilla but to play defensively after they lost out to Real Sociedad. I think with a game like that if Sevilla still have the same number of players it will be difficult for Real Sociedad even it looks like they might even be able to equalize. With this result, Sevilla could not get out of their negative trend by losing their 7th time this season. Something very different compared to last season, because the previous season they managed to finish in 4th place in the standings and managed to get a place in the Champions League. Now they have to work hard so they don't fall into the brink of relegation

In another match, Espanyol hosted Villareal. Villareal took a 0-1 lead over the hosts a few minutes ago after Benjamin Lecomte's own goal. There is still time for Espanyol to equalize, but I have a little doubt they will be able to do it.

The match has ended with a win for real sociedad in that match. sevilla really have to give up 3 points for real sociedad at home. I don't see a competitive game from the sevilla players in this match because they really struggled to develop a more aggressive game. real sociedad were able to make the tempo of the game more aggressive early in the half by dominating the game after scoring the opener through Sorloth and doubling the lead through Mendez. This defeat was very painful for Sevilla because in this match they really chased 3 points but unfortunately for them, two players had to be sent off because they got a red card. sevilla ranking in the standings table is very insecure because sevilla, celta and cadiz are both on 11 points but cadiz and celta still have one game this week so there is a possibility for sevilla to go down to a lower ranking.

Losing 2 players for Sevilla is also a difficulty for them. It's really difficult when they are forced to defend with 9 men from 34 minutes for sure they are quite depressed by this situation.
I feel I need to appreciate their performance especially when they managed to reduce the gap even though it didn't have much impact.
With this result Sevilla really becomes difficult now because their points are still the same as the club who are in the relegation zone.

Two straight red cards since the first half, it clearly will not benefit Sevilla in this match. But really, I see they still seem likely to score another goal after Rafa Mir managed to close the first half with 1-2.

Playing with 9 players after 35 minutes of the game is hard, yet Sevilla scored 1 goal and they are 1-2 vs Sociedad. I find it interesting how they managed to resist. Teams are generally cracked once they lose 1 player. It is 2 here!

But in this case we also know that the red card that Sevilla received was actually an unnecessary mistake and they only made things difficult for themselves with it. although their defense is also very good but playing with 9 players is definitely not an opponent for Sociedad who are in the upper hand.
