Hansi Flick is saddled with a tougher challenge in this season than Xavi had previously. Every team right now is heavily beefed up with big signings. Dani Olmo's out of the squad means he is still not in the good form. Point of correction, you don't get extra time after 90 minutes of playing a league match rather you get few additional minutes. That being said, Barcelona was able to find protect their lead till final whistle in their first league game of the season which was played at Valencia. It was a difficult game for Hansi Flick's side but the German manager was still able to get a win in his first competitive game for the club.

Talking about Dani Olmo and why he didn't feature in the game, it was simply because he wasn't registered on time as a Barcelona player to play in their first game of the season but he'll surely feature in their next league game as he's expected to be officially registered as a Barcelona player.

We are missing lots of our players. We play without Fermin, Gavi, Olmo, Araujo. But we can still win against Valencia by a narrow score. It's not bad, considering we used many La Masia kids in this game. For me, Raphinha is the MVP in this game. Raphinha was also exceptional. He ran the entire time and gave it his all.
