Flags and Negative trust update suggestion ⬛

Can we add one small implementation update for Posts, where every post created by flagged users
or by users with negative trust have Yellow or Red mark even before opening the topic itself?

Simple colors, no need for anything fancy.
It can be placed anywhere.
Hover over with mouse will give more detailed text info.

It should warn/inform people even before opening the topic itself.

I don't think negative/red/yellow trust can affect the quality of posts, it means I can't trust this user without the need for an escrow.
If you do not research before making any deal, this warning will not help you.

Generally, it may be suitable for some sections but even small changes to this forum require a lot of work.
This is best done by some userscripts  ---> List of Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons .

The idea seems good however my understanding is that theymos is a busy admin. He already have priorities to look at (I believe). Another thing is that something my look interesting and worth applying to some group and to another group it may not be something worth looking at at all.

If you ask me about it then I would say adding such informative features help when you are giving quick scan. May be you do not want to read everything in the marketplace section those are posted by a red tag user.

We should spend quality time on Bitcointalk forum, and not waste time in most of this topics.

I remembered I read forum years ago has some colorful features, such as different highlighted colors for donators, something like that. However, over time, these ones turned off due to bandwithd consumptions (not sure, I just recalled, and I could be wrong). Therefore I highly doubt that forum will re-activate or activate some features like what you suggested.
If I find links to those things, I will update the post later. (still not found yet, maybe moderators know about that)

My concern would be that highlighting them in such a fashion might give users the mistaken impression that they're maybe urgent or high-priority messages that are important to read.  If anything, suspicious threads should have visibly less attention drawn to them.  Perhaps something more in the style of users on your ignore list?

Maybe the such a feature would be visible in boards which may involve trades, services or ANN( child board where someone is likely to transact or loose money to scammers).

Because if it happens to be in every board, it would make discussion of topics a little unhealthy especially if people instantly know that Op has a flag against them.

People could also ignore the topic instantly without even checking what the person had to say just because of the color scheme is showing that OP is already flagged.

Some of these people are flagged but they bring valuable discussions in some boards of the forum

My concern would be that highlighting them in such a fashion might give users the mistaken impression that they're maybe urgent or high-priority messages that are important to read.  If anything, suspicious threads should have visibly less attention drawn to them.  Perhaps something more in the style of users on your ignore list?

Interesting point of view.

Maybe some system added icon symbol info could be an alternative option also.
Or some transparent overlay

I would exclude altcoin bounty section from Recent Posts on home page of forum,
as I noticed that most of recent posts are from that section.

Trust scores doesn't even show up on regular boards where trading isn't involved why would you implement such thing on threads created by flagged users? It will just create a new kind of selection process where members would avoid threads created by this person just because it has been painted red or some kind of color labeling him a flagged user. Also if we are talking about boards/sections where trading is involve I don't think its too hard of a process for them to just click the topic itself and see the trust scores of the members posting it.

Most of the time users who are flagged or with negative trust are connected with SCAM or suspicious activity.
I don't want to waste any time to click, open and return for posts they created,

Negative trust is connected with reputation of the user.
You will not see it unless user received it from DT1 or DT2 user.
But,  sometimes negative trust is used as "tool of revange " on this forum.
So,  some users can be excellent but only one person can think differently and their reputation is ruined forever.
So,  do you really think that users with only one negative trust , for example, should be put on some kind of shame list forever and that even their posts coming with warning?
Do you think they shouldn't have right to contribute any more to this forum?

No.
I was not talking on banning anyone or creating some shame section,
and I agree that trust system can be abused,
BUT if user receives more than 1 negative trust or flags, and they create new Topic,
then this should be visible only on created Topic, and not on every single post user makes.

Good shout, you've got my support on that one.  I'd say that suggestion is worthy of having its own topic.  It's not related to trust, so best to keep the two things separate.

And you can do that without changes from Admin: See all current flags, and ignore all users who you think deserve it.

You can ignore those boards to make them disappear. That also makes Show unread posts since last visit. much more useful. I block many boards on my mobile, but I don't want to block them on my desktop. The result is that I find threads on mobile that I overlooked on my desktop.

If that is your way of viewing the trust system then you are wrong about it. You still need to review the member's flag or negative rating before you even make a judgement on what they are trying to do, their red tag might not even be related to what are they posting now. Negative trust is not created for you to avoid the member all through out in the forum or the threads they have created as well the negative trust is simply just a reminder of what they have done wrong on a particular trade or even to a person.

Except it's a pm from such user, then if you ask me there is no problem at all, if it's a general thread for all to see, I see no reason why you'll be suspicious of it. Many users have been flagged for one mistake in the past and have still continued to be productive in the forum through their posts.

The flag just signifies that you have to think twice before engaging in anything personal with such user, it's not like it is sure to go wrong, but for one to be careful.
Reading, commenting and even meriting their threads is totally cool.
