Even scammers can betray each other to have it all, greed usually comes with a price and that is what happens here, and how can they get the authority involved when the money was stolen? The only choice is to take matters into their own hands, this is really a sad story, losing your life this way is horrible, I hopes other scammers can learn from this.
Maybe he is the kingpin, and in my country, we believe in voodoo, probably the scammer must have scammed a voodoo man that has already done some voodoo over him. You know that we have some people that you don’t cost pain to. Do you know how many people such scammer would have caused pain for their hard-earned money, and I am happy that he met nemesis, him and his friends, in their next life, they will learn to be good and to work hard.

There are things or ways you will really work hard and get that money legally, but because of laziness, majority of people result to using all those crook means to obtain money from innocent hardworking people, so what do you expect of those type of people? They will surely end up being useless.

keep voodoo and black magic of any kind out of the crypto space

Scammers are thieves and when caught they should be dealt with according to the law. I don't think they should be tortured nor killed, they should be sent to trail and if found guilty should be sentenced to some years of imprisonment and not killed.

Bitcoin Scammer Stealing $63 Million Brutally Tortured and Murdered by Business Partners...

I read a story like this and simply don't know what to say or think.

How about you guys?

I know what it feels if someone you trusted betrayed you and took away everything from you but we shouldn't put the law in our hands. They should have not killed them because sometime in their life they became friends or if not, atleast partners. It is a sin in the eyes of God to kill people. They should have let the police to took care of the matter. Because of the killing, they just made their life more miserable. I'm praying for them to reflect on what they did and I hope that they will reciver from it very soon.

Now, the bitcoin will remain unspent and useless forever, as no one will ever have access to it. Sad!

I believe that such cases should be dealt with by the relevant authorities - the police and the court. Everyone must be punished according to the law.

Damn, this story is terrible. Just imagine if for every crime people will kill each other. We're not animals, we're in the 21st century. I hope this solution will not serve as an example for someone.

Disgusting news. Undoubtedly, everyone should be held accountable for their crimes, especially for such large thefts. But agree, this is absolutely not a humane way of punishment. It is not for nothing that we have a judicial system.

The title emphasizes 'Bitcoin' but reading in the midst of it, it pointed out 'vast cryptocurrencies'.

This incident happened in my country (India). This guy apparently cheated more than 50,000 individuals with his Bitcoin ponzi scheme. Not satisfied with the profits, he then tried to con his associates as well and this proved to be his undoing. Now the entire team have their lives ruined. The leader is dead, and the others will spend at least a few decades in the overcrowded and disease-infected prisons of India.
So this was the other details that other readers should know.

Scammer tried to scam his associates.

I now understood the feeling of Philip about this news because I'm feeling the same..  Undecided

i am okay with the brutal beating and torture but not with the killing. i wish to know where that happened and what the government made as judgement for the killer. that is a lesson for scammers too, they should know they are playing on some people's temperament and intelligence. the dupe is quite huge.

<snip...>

Regardless of the crime committed, I think no one deserves their lives to be taken as it can never be justified no matter how heinous the crime they did. Unfortunately, stealing money is as dangerous as people think it should be and this news is no different from what we see and hear everyday.

Brutally torturing an individual can never be justified due to stealing or any crime committed, so I may have to disagree with your opinion. Unfortunately, it may be easy to say that it may be justified but doing harm to an individual can never be right, regardless of the circumstance.

I am curious if that person had the chance to give his private keys to an individual close to him. Because his effort of ditching his associates was not really worth as it cost his life. Greed overpowered his life. And now, he's gone.

They never intended to murder him. They asked him to reveal the password to his Bitcoin wallet and the torture started when he refused to comply. As per their version, he lost consciousness during the torture sessions and could not be revived despite medical assistance. Obviously, I wouldn't trust their version of the events that much. A lot of unanswered questions are there.

And to put it honestly, these guys didn't had much of a choice. Filing a civil lawsuit in India is quite useless (as I found out many times during my business dealings in India). The legal proceedings can go on for many decades, and during this time the accused will be completely free, enjoying his life in luxury. In most cases, the only viable solution is to reach a mutually agreeable deal outside the court.

I do not think such an action was needed at all. If they had caught the scammer they should have handed him over to the police and the law would have taken action.

The level of tolerance in our society has been going down gravely. Every day we read and see such inhuman crimes being committed in the name of justice. People tend to forget that they are not animals and as human beings, we have to obey and follow laws that have been created by us.

What did they accomplish? they themselves are now criminals.

I don't think he did as per the storyteller it wasn't mentioned and vishnu.reang said that he fooled his associates.

I think that the leader don't trust anybody so why he would give it to someone even as close as his associates.

What are you saying man, are you justifying their action, they all engaged in a wrong action and what they would have done is take it easy and with wisdom look for how to get the money, or if they have to do him anything wrong, the highest they would do is to report him secretly to the authority and let authority take control of the whole situation, at least they will not lose alone, they will both loose together, but even now, they have lost out eventually because they are now a murderer, and the murdered one has already died with the wallet password which they will not be able to revive again.

So, is that not penny wise palm foolish? I guess it was actually their right time for nemesis to catch up with them because of their worn doing, all of them together.

It's normal especially when money is the main cause of the murder.

It's already happening in our world, not just only in bitcoin but in the mafia or gang. If someone gets scammed, gang will literally murder that specific person.

I wonder how they knew the location and personality of that person, If it's huge money then it will cost their lives. People get emotionally because it's money that will solve your financial problems, a money that will take you on the top, no one likes being deceived so they ended up killing or worst.

This is similar to reprisal as it was during the racket and the mafia for long years ago. However, this man himself chose his fate by stealing Bitcoins.
How long are we talking about it here? What actual year since Bitcoin was created and started in 2009, that's 10 years ago. I would like to know more about this story if you don't mind. Cool

Stealing is not really a good idea if it is not for the cause just like how Robin Hood does. Money can change everyone into something as if money is very important to them, although it is another story if the money they stole was from the hard-earned money of a hard-working person/company. It's like an ant stealing food from the cat.  Lips sealed
