Here is what im seeing with the card in question removed as of right now, The hashrate seems to be the same as it was when the card was in,, Its bouncing between 875gh and 1044gh. I looked at the blade for missing pieces and im not sure but it appears as though i may be missing the same resistor as the guy in an earlier post,, but I am not sure. here is what I see, Im not savvy enough to know for sure if those really are missing parts or not. Again any help is appreciated.

Looks like it, if you take that and another blade to an electronics shot they should be able to solder a new one on.

anyone else noticed (maybe all do this) - when you reboot it goes back to factory defaults ?
I used the "shutdown now -h" command at the cmd line in ssh and it shut down gracefully - but after moving it and powering back up - I had to reenter my network and miner configuration settings (also cant change web gui password)
other than that its working great

I have not experienced that problem. Have you used the web interface to "reboot" the device after making your configuration changes at least once? I use "shutdown -h now" to power my box down and it's always held my configuration--but I'm not positive when the configuration gets written. Try setting the config, then rebooting, then power down via the CLI and see if it saves your settings that way. If it doesn't, perhaps your SD card is read only. Did you replace it?

I just tried using the web interface to reboot (after re-entering net and miner config) and same thing - factory defaults on boot - (and the time before rebooted then shutdown with cli)
its the stock config - so I havent replaced the micro sd card
the S2 is working fine - so its just mildly annoying - but if the power goes out etc - it will be offline until I reenter the config (even the miner config settings are not saved)
Its a new batch-4 S2 - so I wonder if thats the way they are shipping now to prevent sd corruption (or something)

This is not normal behaviour - suggest you download a new image & reflash a class 10 microSD card & try again. I have the same batch as you & don't suffer with your problems - could be corrupted.

Interesting, mine uses the commands that Tracer posted (shutdown -h now) very well so far. In my case, when I tried to "reboot" from the gui it got stuck somehow with both green and red light "on" on the front panel. Upon swithing power off and on again, it revitalized itself. I am surprised how each machine/software combo is so individual-I had the same with S1. Each one has it's own little peculiarity.

No, that is the firmware link. You need a rar file named bitmain.img - it has been uploaded by someone previously & the link is a few pages back on this thread, just scroll back a bit Edit: Just added it to my dropbox in case you can't find it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/py9jus9mk3tk21e/bitmain.img.zipPeace

I used a 4gig card - use a quality "class 10" one.

(initramfs.bin.SD-20140410.tar)
System Upgrade Failed

My new S2 is generating only 800 GH/s. Are two "chains" dead? Should I open the box and check if the boards are properly connected?

Yes, you are missing two cards. Open the device and carefully remove and reseat all ten boards. Let us know how it looks. I went ahead and opened the device. Two cards were completely loose and couple were not seated all the way. I made sure all the cards were seated properly. The work on heatsinks was quite rough and the heat sinks have sharp edges. I cut my finger and couple of drops of blood dropped on one of the boards. I wiped the blood off with a tissue and reassembled the device. The sacrifice of virgin blood seemed to work and now all 10 boards are hashing, and I am getting 1 TH/s.
