LAUNCHED 17 JULY 2018
NO PREMINE | NO DEV FEE[1]
42 -- IT'S THE ANSWER

[original ANN: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4694014.0]

The 42 project (FRTY) is hacking at open-source privacy code (currently we’re on a Monero fork) to make cryptocurrency more consistently and irreversibly private and secure.  We’re focusing on the concept of a “Peer-to-Peer Private Electronic Cash System.”   We launched on July 17, 2018 as a zero-premine project with no dev fee and no ICO, no bullshit.

We’ve hit a few bumps.  Project suffered a near total loss with the 2018 MapleChange exit scam.  We’ve launched a new version of the coin (moving from TurtleCoin to Monero) then the dev launched himself into some kind of time warp and disappeared.

  • 42 (v1) launched on July 17, 2018 as a Turtlecoin fork, and many coins were lost with the MapleChange exit scam.
  • 42 (v2) relaunched in December 13, 2018 as a Monero fork with a chain and coin swap to new algo, 1.75m FRTY for miners losses in v1 and 100k community bounties.
  • 42 (v3) is based on same chain as v2 but restarted and by community after initial developer disappeared.

We’ve learned from the experience and are battening down the hatches to prepare for the next galactic attack. The hiccups have strengthened our focus on security and given us battle-tested resilience. Our project is now supported by Aardvark Research.  Come join us. Most everything happens on Discord but if you want to build another community elsewhere on Telegram (or Mars) be our guest.

[1] In reality our narrative is somewhat hosed, that's why it's good to bring a towel.  Here's the deal: the project has always been (and will be) without dev fee or tax, however its not so clearly a ZPM any longer. In sum, 42v1 was ZPM but there was a premine in 42v2 to substitute for lost coins and add for miners. That's all fun and good and probably true, and there have been no claims otherwise in the community --- but please DYOR or the vogons will get you.

Even if you use Bitcoin through Tor, the way transactions are handled by the network makes anonymity difficult to achieve. Do not expect your transactions to be anonymous unless you really know what you're doing.

I have compiled latest cli wallet from github repo "https://github.com/42v3/42" but it does not connect to any peers. Can you provide a list of peers i can connect to? I also tried directly mining to cratex but their wallet is unsupported by pools due to it being a subaddress with address begining with "SNakey......." instead of "four.....".
