Will There Really Be An Altcoin Season or Just a plot to Keep us in the Loop

Eventually there will be, I don't know how long it will take or how much we will take advantage of it but eventually there will be one. It may take years before it happens like 2017 peak times as well, for example bitcoin went back to half of what it used to be whereas almost all other coins haven't had that yet, which means there needs to be some sort of alt season to actually bring it back.

Ethereum reached 1.5k at its height and right now bitcoin is back to 10k yet ethereum is not 750 dollars, on contrary it goes down even further. That is why I think altcoins are dying right now but they will be revived one day, bitcoin can't be sustained without its altcoins, bitcoin can go up to a point but it will be hard to increase the price of it without getting some help from altcoin profits.

Nobody can predict what would happen next, but the most possible case is that BTC will continue to grow and will arrive to the point, when investors would switch to altcoins that are at the bottom prices, which should push the whole alts market forward.

Yeah, just a bitcoin maximalist trying to scare people there. In some ways he's correct, true shitcoins probably won't recover. But it's too simple to paint every alt as a shitcoin. Some people tend to overlook that most alts are better from a technical level than bitcoin is. And there are some specific fields where alts do things bitcoin simply can't (such as with ETH).

Besides altcoins being responsible for hype in the market, it's also responsible for a lot of BTC's volume as well (can't buy alts quite often without buying BTC first). So no alts won't really help BTC's cause much. Short-term it'd result in a boost to BTC, but longterm it's unlikely to be healthy.

But the big takeaway to me is how BTC people (and I say this as someone who holds BTC) seem to forget that BTC acts like a pump/dump coin too, not much different than alts. BTC is still down like 50% from its highs... yes it's better than 80-90% losses, but that's how big and small marketcaps work. It works the same way with stocks too. It doesn't mean small market cap stocks are all scams, and folks should just buy Apple and Amazon.

alt season will definitely come back, but that's only for good quality altcoin. during the next altcoin season, there will be many altcoins dead and the rest will survive.

maybe many are afraid of the current bitcoin dominance, but that is not a threat. because from the beginning bitcoin has been the center of crypto. bitcoin which makes people interested in investing in crypto. so if bitcoin looks not so powerful, then they will lose their trust.

You know how many innovation projects have been released at the moment?, it's very much. but in the end did it trigger the altcoin season? I don't think so, and that even makes the market bear.

the thing is when the next "altcoin pumping season" starts, it will be the new altcoins that will be pumped the most not the old ones.
if you want to see how the next bull run is going to be and what i mean by "new" you can check out the altcoin market in 2015 to first see which coins were the "top" that people were bag holding thinking they will go back to their ATH, then see 2016 and 2017 how the "new" coins of that time replaced them by their huge pumps.

No, not everyone. Just the ones who think they can make money by making sheep out of other people. In this case, generally also people with an inflated ego.

I personally think it's good. Then I know exactly who to avoid. Guru. Expert. Whatever. The titles are like a big red flag for me to say stay away except for entertainment.

Completely agree with this. The only reason people want to name themselves Guru is not because they want to teach people things,,, it is because they want people to pay them to tell things that people think they do not know.

But do we really need people to tell us that price will go to XXXXX just because of some idea or some explanation some Guru said?

That decision is left to the developers because every growth of altcoin depends on each and every one of them and how their attitude towards the project they have been created, you know when you are being giving money as a gift, you cannot manage it as much as you would manage the money that you worked for, and I think that is what is affecting these projects.

Maybe because they go those fund on a platter of gold, because if they had gone through IPO, the kind of money that they do demand for  would not have been met even in 5 year’s time, but ICO gave it to them just within few months, while the bounty hunters whom they have even refunded to pay are the ones that are doing more of the campaign, now the lapse is there, they are not getting new investor because many of them are not promoting the project, so I think altcoin season may still be far from us now.

The truth is many people (including so-called "cryptocurrency experts"), are merely speculating based on the boom of altcoins in late 2017. No one knows for sure if we will have another surge of alts season. But we can be hopeful of it since Bitcoin is yet to cross its ATH. When Bitcoin goes above 20k, then we can start to actually see the possibility of another alts season

Alt season is something is to be expected regardless of what analysts say, the big question is 'when'? People are looking to invest in Bitcoin- both inexperienced investors and noobs alike. Why? The Baakt Bitcoin ETF. Alt season can only come when the interest in BTC subsides a bit. I don't think that'll be soon. Plus the market is consolidating after a big rally.

If there is still a possibility of a Bitcoin rally then it is almost certain that an alt season will follow.

That is a fact, I could vividly still remember what happened some times ago, the rally if Bitcoin always give way for that of the Altcoins and what we have seen recently is, the rally of bitcoin has not be seen as much even its dorminance look impressive. Probably, we should keep our hope alive till 2020 while we should be expecting a big Altcoins market.

Well if history repeats itself, I should say we're overdue for a boom in the altcoin market.  Bitcoin has been on fire lately whereas even the decent altcoins have been languishing.  On the other hand I have noticed in the past couple of years that sometimes money flows into bitcoin and out of the alt market, and there is sometimes an inverse relationship in prices between the two.  That appears to be what is happening right now.

Hang tight, be patient, and load up on coins that will probably rebound once the money starts to come back into alts.  I don't doubt that this is what's going to happen, though I'd be hard pressed to say when.  Hopefully it will be this year.

With the current liquidity we currently have in the market, and with the bitcoin percentage dominance and its continues hopeful dominance, altcoins may not repeat what they did in 2017, except there is enough liquidity in the market, wherein the bitcoin shines on its own, without putting much pressure on the market.

The only reason why you might think you are being held in the loop is if you yourself have the belief of let's buy this particular alt coin and in few weeks to come I might have made a fortune then a week turns to weeks, weeks in turn became months and you still hold forth that in the next months which in turn became three months and one year still counting. But if its about making the most out of each day or few days by taking the marginal profit or marginal losses there is no illusion of being a wealthy alt coin in a future undecided. The point is no one is plotting to keep anyone in that loop of illusion without your own conscious or subconscious approval.

Agreed, by the time we should also have the better plans for tomorrow. Whether it is bitcoin or altcoins, we move upon trust. Till date one who have believed in the cyclic turnaround of the market has profited out of bitcoin, but it isn't assured with every cryptocurrencies. Here we need to be careful in choosing the right asset for our benefiting, also patience is a must.
