Will There Really Be An Altcoin Season or Just a plot to Keep us in the Loop

lol well if history really will repeat itself and after all it does happen all the time. a country always has the crisis and keeps getting up so why not in crypto. i've seen it twice already with btc. but it will take a lot of time and patience to run out. don't rely too much to the speculation that it will happen too soon, it may take more than 5 years from now so just relax and find yourself something to do to kill the time.

These mean we are already in a loop, so there is no need for those people behind altcoin creations to keep us in the loop. We have seen several pump and dump that keeps on repeating itself.  Just entering the altcoin market put us in that loop.

The only reason why you might think you are being held in the loop is if you yourself have the belief of let's buy this particular alt coin and in few weeks to come I might have made a fortune then a week turns to weeks, weeks in turn became months and you still hold forth that in the next months which in turn became three months and one year still counting. But if its about making the most out of each day or few days by taking the marginal profit or marginal losses there is no illusion of being a wealthy alt coin in a future undecided. The point is no one is plotting to keep anyone in that loop of illusion without your own conscious or subconscious approval.

True that, most people who dive on altcoin believes that the altcoin they are buying will increase in price soon without knowing that price can get worse and they have to wait longer than what they had plan.  Worst is, many altcoin never recovered and get doomed and die.

of course there will be. some crypto observers have given a prediction that the altc season will occur at the end of this year. although it might not be as good as the previous year, it will really help altc investors to get a fresh breeze on their investment.

If you still have optimistic belief that the market will  benefit to your invested time and money, it's quite better to have good assets to hold. You need to learn how to treat things out and be aware of any potential actions that will bring things to bounce back. Expectations about crypto for being volatile should not be forgotten, being able to be more patient in order to make things right with your investment is needed to consider every market movements.

And it will be this fall. I expect Altcoins to show a price increase well enough. Coins on average should grow in price by 300-400%.

That'd be nice, but we'll see. But based on history, as soon as btc hits a certain dominance, and all looks lost for alts, they tend to rebound. We may have hit that mark already. ETH going on a run pre-2.0 could be what spurs it on -- that is assuming this current ETH bull run has some legs. But it's too early to say right now -- may take 2-3 months, which is about how long it took for alts to get crushed since the summer.

Part of me wonders if the decline in alts simply had to do with Libra being announced + Binance delisting US folks and whales getting cold feet, worrying that alts would tank because of Binance ... so they sort of pre-tanked before the event. Now that the Binance thing is over, perhaps whales will be a little more adventurous.

Agreed, too early, but at least it's moving in the right direction. What was it over the summer, around the 55% mark? If dominance slips below 60%, I'd consider it a good sign. I think we may know more after Bakkt goes live -- right now it looks like whatever boost btc was going to get from it was cooked in, but too early to say. And it could be a double-edged sword, as besides investors having an easier way to buy into btc, it's also easier to short it as well.

While our altcoins keep depreciating in value daily as we keep vigil for altseason, bitcoin dominance has crossed 70% and keeps growing in strength. Will there really be an altseason.

I know it's not important anymore who created Bitcoin and why (if there are any real reasons) but sometimes with alts especially I wonder what the whole point is and if we're all just getting on a ride.

I believe the point is getting profit.  Several of those old story about "rags to riches" inspires us to get involved in cryptocurrency.  Riding on a certain altcoinboat that can give you a huge profit is a grat thing.  I myself profited from this one and enables me to buy myself a place to live that I can call my own but if there are ups there is also downs, and after the year 2017, all my altcoin investment goes down more than 90% of its original value, lucky I did not invest all my profit and saved 30% of it.  Another thing here is to know when we have to exit the loop and reenter it again.  It's hard but I believe it is doable.

To enter the growth cycle, the cryptocurrency market needs to drop to a low level of capitalization. I hope that the capitalization of the market does not fall below 150 billion dollars.

There will definitely be another altcoin season. It may not happen until a) you've sold all your alts or b) the alts you are holding have all been delisted. Markets are cruel like that.

The ETHBTC daily chart still looks strong, holding up really well against the dump in BTC. Keeping hope alive....

I expect a ton of folks sold their alts at a terrible loss, and as crypto things tend to go, that means altseason is just around the corner. I'm waiting for what I sold to skyrocket, while my holdings stagnate -- and the crypto gods can laugh in glee.

But the fact that so many junkcoins were delisted probably will be one major reason why I don't think the next altseason will result in a zillion coins all increasing in value, even complete junk. Besides investors being somewhat smarter now, there simply won't be exchanges offering certain coins anymore. And dinky little exchanges usually can't handle the sort of volume we saw in 17.

But if altcoin season does come, I wonder if it'll come top down, or reverse... meaning ETH leads the way, then it trickles down to smaller cap coins. Or mid-smaller cap first? It's been so long I forget how altcoin seasons tend to begin. Or maybe some new alts will spur the charge.

Bitcoin dominance is also starting to get lower. I can smell that this is the time for its own recovery while most alts are struggling to even recover, this probably the time to see them on greens again. This doesn't mean because we see them green now, they'll go green forever. I think the pattern starts when the decrease of bitcoin dominance starts, this is my opinion into this alt season. This is not an advice to everyone and this is all about my opinion again, if ever someone is taking this as advice.

It sometimes we/I think that this year isn't good for altcoins nor to see a bullish season for cryptocurrency. We could only see to have such bullish again if Bitcoin could help it out and move also but it was missing today instead we saw it going down. Not to be really disappointed but it sounds like that, and I believe that there is no bull run this year.
We looking forward to seeing it next year as another BTC halving come. will it hope that it triggers market pumps and lead to bullish?

That's usually how it goes! I've basically forgotten about my altcoin bags at this point. No point selling all the way down here. For the small amount of money it would net to sell them now, I'd rather view them as lottery tickets.

New listings might be a bit sparser than 2017. My overall assumption is that if it's listed on a decent exchange, it will pump.

I think that the market cap has already drop enough and not until the market cap zeroes before we welcome the new altcoin season, I don’t think it is about market capitalization dropping zero or not, I think it is about the projects called altcoins having a catalyst that will set the market on fire again and spark the heart of people to start rushing to buy altcoins.

Right now, I do not see the enthusiasm in people buying altcoins again as they are so cold to it because of the bad status of altcoins, which is the reason for the dominance of bitcoin this period as many people do not want to get involved in altcoin investment again, I just hope that we will still see altcoin season as the only season that is on now is the bitcoin season which I know that will be in the market till next year when it decided to consolidate for altcoins.

Unfortunately, but the season for altcoins will not come until the bull run on Bitcoin begins. History tells us that large and rapid price increases are in periods of Bitcoin halving, so it will be in the middle of next year.
In my opinion, this is the worst time to sell and the best time to buy altcoins.
