In my opinion you are mixing two different concepts, gambling for money and gambling for fun, if a person is gambling for profit then you are absolutely right, it does not make sense to keep playing if you are losing money, however gambling for fun is completely different and let me give you an example, suppose that you watch a movie in the movie theater and you pay for it, if we use your logic then why you paid for it?
