I think that is because of bitcoin price was drop deeper than the last price, and now we saw the bitcoin price reached $8k.
That makes the altcoin especially ethereum gets down too, but that will be temporary because after bitcoin can move to the higher price.
The altcoin will follow too, and that will happen too with ethereum.
It is a good opportunity to buy any coins in the market because all of the altcoins have down again so we can buy a huge amount if we have money.
But if you are afraid to buy more, then you could only watch the market moves up and down without buying one of them.
No need to worry if you see the market is like this because that will be back normal soon.

Well,I guess that the 2018 price pattern might repeat.The bitcoin price might crash back to 4K USD and stay at that level during the entire winter.I think that many bitcoin hodlers and traders were waiting for Bakkt to cause a bull run,but that didn't happen so they are just selling.Don't worry,the price will recover next year.

I think everyone was shocked too with what happens to the market ever since the start of bakkt there's a dump happening already. Some people expect a growth of the price yet it is unexpected to see what just happened. Bitcoin price dump too since there's a drop of a recent hashrate. You can find more here or in the internet if you search them. And since most of the coins are following the trend of Bitcoin it's expected to see a drop of the price in most altcoins.

Just because you have the information two years ago it doesn't mean it is enough to prove of what you said. Remember, the market is always unexpected when it comes to the price and just yesterday the unexpected happens already. Everyone was expecting the price to grow up yet the opposite just happen and now Bitcoin is dumping to $8k.

I wonder why anyone thinks that something needs to happen in order to price dump. Why can't it just be markets doing market things? I rarely hear people wondering what happened when the price moves up.

I've seen so many assumptions why the coin prices dropped suddenly. Some said its linked to BAKKT, some also said a whale sent huge BTC to an exchange and dumped etc but all these might not necessarily be the reason for the gross dip. We already know crypto is highly volatile and anything can happen the next moment with market prices.

I just hope it's just a normal cycle and maybe not because of a negative issue, because at the end of today at least we can see altcoin starting to improve and it's different from bitcoin. If this continues, it is possible that the altcoin season will come and the increase will be more significant if indeed the decline that occurs is just a better preparation for a bullrun.
