Now the message on reddit is completely changed and my nickname is listed there. I explained the situation as it is, the point is not even that this is my message, but the fact that the message on the reddit was published later. No plagiarism can be, please remove the unfounded allegations of plagiarism.
If that were true... why is the datetime stamp on the reddit article BEFORE the datetime stamp on the forum post?
Last time I checked... 28th April comes
before 29th April... so, if "the message on reddit was published later", how is it that the Reddit post came some 7 1/2 hours before your forum post?
For the record... both datetime stamps are shown in NZST:
The fact that you've somehow managed to convince the "Miniapps" user to go and edit their old Reddit post to supposedly say it was "inspired" by your Bitcointalk post and then claim your post came first is pretty deceitful, especially when the timestamps prove otherwise. I'd guess it was done out of desperation at trying to avoid a permanent ban.
However, with all that said... I still agree with DireWolfM14:
I'm pretty touchy about plagiarism, and not likely to cut anyone any slack for padding his post count and spamming the forum by copying the work of others, but if this is why gefander was banned it seems kind of petty. It's obvious he copied some text and failed to provide a source, but he sort of half-assed announced that's what he was doing.
I wound't call gefander a great contributor to the forum, and it's unlikely he'll have this ban lifted due to his contributions. However, if this turns out to be an isolated circumstance (as it appears) I would rather see some leniency in this case.
I would agree that it was fairly obvious that gefander just did copy/paste and forgot the "quote" tags. A short temp+sig ban is probably warranted in this case.
