Pilipinas Board Total Topics and Posts Errors

I started collecting the daily created posts and topics in September 21, 2019 on our Local Board its because we need it to determine the daily activites we would have if we should be needing again another merit source. After archiving for 3 days I noticed that there’s something wrong probably in total topics and posts in Local Board (Pilipinas)

Local (Pilipinas)
Topics: 10050
Posts: 256173


Main Board (Pilipinas)
Topics: 4240
Posts: 193239

Altcoins (Pilipinas)
Topics: 3267
Posts: 37076

Main Board (Pilipinas) have a total of 106 pages topics and we know that each pages have circled 40 topics.

Altcoin (Pilipinas) have a total of 18 pages *40=720 plus his child boards Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas) which currently have a total of 65 pages *40=2600 in a total of somewhere in 3200-3300 which exactly exact in the detaild above.

The total topics and posts result should be the sum of Main Board (Pilipinas) and Altcoin (Pilipinas)

To sum it up the total topics and posts in Pilipinas Board should be:

Local (Pilipinas)
Topics: 7507...
Posts: 230315...

Or does the trash/deleted topics and posts in our local board is included in the total topics and posts we currently have?

System only counts new posts and threads (add) but not able to deminish the number of post that has been already deleted. And I think we should leave it like that for some reason
Nevermind, my head hurts like shit. But I really think it is indeed like that. Or maybe I'm also wrong, it may seems like some faulty.
I tried doing math on some.boards and it really looks like it is.

Weird, I just did a little test in the French section with this topic (in the section "Hors Sujet").

After the creation of this topic :
Number of topics displayed at the home of all sections: 12345 (Archive)
Number of topics displayed for the Hors Sujet section: 906 Archive)

And I moved my topic into the trashcan. And now the numbers are:
Number of topics displayed at the home of all sections: 12344 Archive)
Number of topics displayed for the Hors Sujet section: 905 (Archive)

Except bugs, deleted/moved topics are well calculated.

Maybe Theymos can run a general recalculation for the Pilipinas section ?

Make sense. Theymos should be needing to recalculating each entire topics and posts created for the Pilipinas section.

Probably the error comes from the system counts “Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas)” as well that is a child of a childboard that caused of over calculated displayed at the home of all sections in Pilipinas Board?

I think you have a point. Just looking at the Topics (posts would be hell to do), it does seem that the childboard “Altcoins (Pilipinas)” has the toll for the subchildboard "Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas)" rolled-up twice in it’s counter:

Pilipinas: 10.052
   Main: 4.213
   Altcoins (Pilipinas): states 5.873, but I think it should be 3.267 (695 + 2.572) (*)
       Main: 695
       Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas): 2.572

(*) If I’m right, the stated 5.873 – what I think should figure 3.267 = 2.572, which would mean that  "Altcoin Announcements (Pilipinas)" is added twice to "Altcoin (Pilipinas)", and thus to the total.

Those stats are supposed to count the section itself and all subsections, but it's a cached value which drifts from the true value over time. It gets corrected in the recounts which I do periodically (several times per year).

As of this second, the true per-board stats are:

So since the displayed stats count subsections, the top-level message count should be 230270, but it's about 20k off due to drift, and this will get worse over time until I do a recount.
