Unable To Send Funds Through Bitcoin Core Wallet Due To Passphrase Not Being Acc

Hi team - I finally am starting to play with cryptocurrency using the Bitcoin Core wallet.  I've successfully been able to receive BTC but am unable to send it due to the passphrase not being recognized.  This is beyond frustrating.  I wrote it down accurately and have tried inputting it in all lower case with spaces in between each of the twelve words, no spaces, capitalizing the first letter in each word, etc. but nothing is working.  Of course if I want to go and change my passphrase I can only do so if I successfully input the original one, which is the heart of the problem to start with.  Can someone please guide me to successfully inputting my passphrase?

What twelve words are you referring to? The mnemonic phrase? If that's the case then you must have used a different wallet before. Recover your wallet using it and export your private keys if you want to use Bitcoin Core or generate a new wallet and send your coins there from the recovered wallet.

I believe the twelve words are the passphrase.  Is the mnemonic phrase something other than the passphrase?  I haven't used any Bitcoin Core wallet until now, at least not successfully.  If I have another wallet, where might I find it?  I'm happy to generate a new wallet but how will I then be able to send my coins to the new one without being able to authenticate the sending request with the passphrase that I either don't know or am inputting incorrectly?

Okay, it looks like I may have another wallet.  The one that now possesses funds is Bitcoin Core - Wallet with the orange/yellow B emblem.  The other is Bitcoin Core - Wallet [testnet] with a green B emblem.  Could this be my original wallet?  It's presently not encrypted, but I can choose to encrypt it from the settings menu, whereas with the other wallet it is encrypted and I can choose to change the passphrase but only if I know the existing passphrase, which is the crux of the whole problem to start with.  What steps do you recommend I take please?

What passphrase exactly do you mean? the password or the 12 words seed?

Bitcoin core wallet doesn't have seed phrase feature if you use bitcoin core wallet it only generates a wallet.dat file. as your backup.
If it's asking for a password it is not a 12 words seed you should put the password that you use when you created the wallet before.
If you can't remember the password(passphrase) the only option that I know to open your wallet is by brute-forcing.

I don't exactly understand what you are pointing out.
If your funds are from Bitcoin core testnet and you are trying to send it to Bitcoin core Mainnet they are different testnet coins are no value.
Check the wallet which is no testnet sign. If it is asking for a passphrase like I said if you can't remember the password the only solution for this is by using a brute-force tool the link already posted above.

Yes I guess I'm referring to the mnemonic phrase.  That's what the forum member asked about in the previous response.  I assumed that was the passphrase but apparently it's not and I don't recall choosing a passphrase for this Bitcoin Core Wallet with the yellow B. 

No, the funds are not in the testnet wallet.  It was suggested in the prior forum member's response that I essentially transfer the funds from the one wallet to the other but I can't do anything like that without knowing my passphrase.  What is the value of this mnemonic phrase then?  And is it possible to use the "Export" function to transfer the funds from one wallet to the other without having to know the password which I simply don't know?

The mnemonic phrase is a seed phrase, we save it mostly on the piece of paper as our backup where we can use to recover the wallet using the mnemonic phrase/seed phrase. It is not a password that you can use to unlock your wallet and Bitcoin core doesn't have a feature to generate a mnemonic phrase.

Since you don't have a backup even private keys you cant export and transfer the funds to another wallet without the password.
That is why I suggest you to use the BTCrecovery to brute force your wallet.

If you have 12 words mnemonic phrase you can recover it with Electrum wallet as a sample, not in Bitcoin core wallet.

I'm trying to use that service but I don't know that I'm competent enough to use it.  I clicked on their ZIP file but they don't explain where to go after that.  I guess I don't understand what the value of the seed phrase is if it doesn't allow me to produce the passphrase.  Unfortunately for me it's not Electrum, it is Bitcoin Core so I guess I'm screwed since I can't seem to use the brute force passphrase cracker.  Are there any experts online that offer this service for a fee that you recommend/trust?  I found walletrecoveryservices that was mentioned a few times.  Is this outfit a good choice for what I'm looking to accomplish?

Where did you get these 12 words from? You say you wrote them down accurately... but you never stated where you originally got these 12 words from!!?!

Did someone send you these words? Did you get them from a website? Did you get them from another wallet application?

In Bitcoin Core, a "passphrase" is basically just a "password". It can be ANYTHING you want... and MUST be chosen and entered by the user manually to encrypt the wallet. Bitcoin Core, doesn't generate a passphrase for you and it certainly doesn't default to 12 words etc.

I'm not sure how safe walletrecoveryservices but many newbies recommend this to recover your wallet passphrase.

It seems a legit service supported by other trusted forum members. You can try but I can't guarantee that his service is safe.

It might be too late for this, but next time, test your password first before sending coins. Core passwords are case sensitive. I would recommend starting and ending it with a letter.

Technically, it might be possible to use spaces or special characters, but I would avoid those personally. Just use longer phrases or more normal characters.

Also, might be a good idea to backup the wallet.dat before doing anything to it, it remembers the private keys for all addresses but after encryption it stops using the old ones and just the new ones.
