BACKGROUND

The Qortal Project has been in development for many years after the team took over QORA development in 2016. Since then, the team has been silently working on both the QORT Network platform and the ideas for the QORT Device.

Given the fully open source nature of every aspect of the hardware and software, we would like to provide the opportunity for any member of the community to contribute to any aspect of the project. The current development team behind the project believe that the key to success in the open source world is to not limit the development of a project to that of a singular team or company. Therefore everything we are working on is open to anyone who has a valuable asset that could be added to the project.

Multiple contributors have already helped to conceive the initial ideas for the Qortal Project and hardware. We would like to continue that notion by leaving an open invitation to anyone with interest in helping us with the overall goal of decentralizing everything on the internet!

THE DEVICE

The QORT Device is built completely by open source - both it’s hardware and software. It is built to be a full node on the QORT Network with the option to be a ‘Minting Node’, which will bring rewards to the owner on the QORT Network. The minimum specification of the device is Quad Core ARM Cortex A53 with NEON, FPU and dedicated Java acceleration. It is our dream that the device will provide it’s owners with features beyond that of any other while simultaneously providing access to an extremely advanced blockchain network. This includes rewards to pay for internet service costs!

This open source hardware router/node/wallet is an all-in-one solution with more security and features than any other device, period. This easy-to-use package comes with automatically configured blockchain node, network configuration and immediate security for your entire home as well as access to a totally new, fully secure, blockchain-hosted network unlike anything seen before.

The QORT Device offers a copy and paste command mechanism to add / remove firewall rules and allow / disallow services on and from the router aspect. New UI function and features will also be added as development continues and more support is attained.

The open hardware used is ever evolving and there will be variants available such as 32-bit or 64-bit with different single board computers (Raspberry Pi hardware will not be used due to it‘s severe limitations, bottlenecks and port limits / expandability).

I have supported this team for a number of years waiting for this break through and launch.  While I haven't been as active in crypto as past year I did provide the team with a financial loan (yes properly documented) that allowed for the development of this project to continue to happen so that daily operation expenses were covered.  As a result I'm hoping for a wildly successful project that rivals the BitMain Ant-Router in terms of deploments. 

Minting is a concept that finds a happy median between PoS and Uptime.  I'm looking forward to being one of the "founder accounts" as I wait for delivery of my hardware.

Yes, as this has essentially been my life's work for the past 5 years or so, with all coming up with ideas, figuring out how they could work, finding the right people to be able to accomplish the goals, etc... it has been a hell of a ride. Now being so close to the initial network launch, and being able to start the router presale, I'm undoubtedly extremely excited. We firmly believe this to be a project that anyone who loves the original bitcoin concepts, and decentralization overall should very much enjoy... as we have ensured the fact that no central authority at all is required for the platform's use or success.

Yes, CIYAM is incredibly brilliant, and we couldn't have gotten this far without him, his ideas were essential in creating the overall concepts we have come up with, and of course, his efforts in development are second to none. The ACCT cross chain trading as well as the storage concepts and design, were all him. We're extremely honored to have a person of his caliber willing to help us along the way. While asking for nothing other than the recognition he most obviously deserves.

Correct, both on the low power consumption aspect, as well as the 'DEX', though, we are not calling it a DEX, as we do not want to be lumped into the same category as the other so-called 'DEX' that are not really decentralized.

Our platform, instead of being centralized and pretending it isn't... actually isn't.

The sync'd chain will give you access to the trade portal built into both the backend and UI of the QORT blockchain platform. With it, you can make automated cross-chain trades. Initially the only supported coin will be BTC, which is natively supported in the platform. With that native support, one can place a trade (stored on the blockchain in a similar fashion to how the asset trades are within the asset exchange on QORA) and execute the trade with another party, COMPLETELY P2P and CROSS-CHAIN.

Therefore, there is no central website you must access in order to make this trade system possible, and not a single entity that will ever have any control over the coins taking place in the trades.


The trade portal still has a bit in the way of development to be completed, so it will be implemented in a future release, shortly after the launch of the main network, minting, etc. We need the network to be strong prior to the launch of the portal, and there are still some remaining development aspects in the UI that need to be addressed, so this launch will take place a short while after the core network launch.

However, the core functionality, bitcoin core, and cross-chain trade capability is already there in the core of the existing platform, which will be launching at the end of the month.


The trade portal, will be 'supported' by what are called 'liquidity providers'. Those liquidity providers initially, will be those that put up 'buy support' on the BTC/QORT aspect of the portal. (Essentially, those who put up BTC to support those who wish to sell their QORT tokens as opposed to utilizing them in the system for one of the various services they can activate.

Liquidity providers will be rewarded by the 'fees' associated with the trades taking place in the portal. The 'fees' are a slight modification of the order placed, in order to provide the fee that will keep people interested in becoming liquidity providers, and thus making the portal a usable trading system.

Those same fees will then be distributed directly to the liquidity providers, thus giving them a reward for their efforts and financial aspects going into being said liquidity provider.

Since we all know, liquidity is something that makes or breaks a trading system. It is immediately important. Therefore at the launch of the trade portal, so too will the launch of the liquidity provider account type. Which will also be assigned a level, and will get rewarded by the fees in accordance with that level.

We are probably also likely to include the liquidity providers in a portion of the overall block rewards too, at least at first, so that they have even more incentive, even when the portal is still gaining traction, and users.

Bare in mind that the entirety of every aspect of this massive project, may or may not be fully decided yet, and may or may not be in its final stages before being finalized in the codebase. So essentially *much of what I say is subject to slight modification prior to final version being solidified in the word of the code.*

I have supported this team for a number of years waiting for this break through and launch.  While I haven't been as active in crypto as past year I did provide the team with a financial loan (yes properly documented) that allowed for the development of this project to continue to happen so that daily operation expenses were covered.  As a result I'm hoping for a wildly successful project that rivals the BitMain Ant-Router in terms of deploments. 

Minting is a concept that finds a happy median between PoS and Uptime.  I'm looking forward to being one of the "founder accounts" as I wait for delivery of my hardware.
