So awesome.  I chatted with two chaps on g-chat in two different countries, and we traded coins and had a blast.  I no longer need to leave my home ever.

What's good in not leaving your home anymore? Are you under house arrest?

Bitcoin is awesome because it is something that is truly new... and that in of itself is rare.

It's an idea whose time has come.
Moreover, it is an excellent implementation of a great idea.

A computer network is paying users cash to to host itself. What will computers do next? I suspect these critters think a bit differently than humans!
Holy shit, I've never thought of it like that. That's... Actually kind of creepy.

Someone should submit a bug report saying that the Bitcoin network is vulnerable to becoming Skynet. Need to fix this now before it gets out of hand.

Meh, I don't think computers are gonna be thinking as long as they are constructed as they are e.g. transistors and logic gates.  Perhaps another technology may.  But not these dumb computers - they just do whatever we say!

humans are constructed by their parents and taught basic logic by them also. but then humans, due to randomness start making their own decisions..

bitcoin mining runs on randomness.. satoshi did not program who gets paid.. the computers do that.. so AI might be closer then you think.

all that is needed now is to program reproduction. EG when address 1xxxxxxxxxxxxx reaches 5BTC auto-pay to purchase more gigahash...

then no human is involved with the reproduction/growth process..

just be sure not to program it to access a hitman for hire or a gunshop...

(please note my post is just for giggles, not serious.. sarcasm escapes the written word sometimes)

I DO NOT TRADE OR ACT AS ESCROW ON THIS FORUM EVER.
Please do your own research & respect what is written here as both opinion & information gleaned from experience. many people replying with insults but no on-topic content substance, automatically are 'facepalmed' and yawned at

Don't get me wrong, I could sit on my computer for 16 hours a day for months at a time. Starcraft, chess, browsing the internet, programming, the fun never has to end. But never leave my home? Bad for my health to do that. Bitcoin allows me to go on a vacation from home (and to forget my computer). Thanks to Bitcoin, I travel all over the world, go hiking, & sleep with beautiful ladies in 3rd world countries (just married one this year).

I love Bitcoin.

The invention of bitcoin is second only to the invention of the world wide web in terms of information technology I have been amazed with in my lifetime.
