--snip--

How do you manage any possible stress coming from Bitcoin's volatility?
My principle, do not overload the mind. We already know that bitcoin is very volatile, so if we are too ambitious on the target and have to make a profit, it actually makes it more stressful and of course, affects our analysis and mentality. Bitcoin, whether used as an investment tool or commodity trading, should be able to be a means that makes us calm in using it.
Remember: invest, not speculate.
Do the best analysis -> take a decision -> then let it run as it is, if your analysis is right then profit, if not then vice versa, whatever the results are, accept it gracefully.

Still, even if this is your way on how you handle the stress from bitcoin's volatility and you want others to apply the same thing, this won't work on all of them. We have different capacity of how much stress we could handle or how calm our mind is to handle stress or all of the negative emotions that could be released from our system when a sudden problem came up, for example, you buy bitcoin at $8,000 but it dumps at $6,000 the other day.

It might be easier for you to deal with your emotions but we cannot force it to someone's perspective and do the exact thing you did and turns up well in the end like you.

It's a proven stat that a lot of investment bankers and traders suffer a lot of stress throughout their working hours due to how busy they are and how much money needs to be made.

Same can be said for bitcoin, probably more so since the markets will never close, there's been news stories made that showed how stressful trading BTC was nd how people woke up in the middle of the night to check prices

Ecли чeлoвeк нe xoчeт пepeживaть зa cвoи вклaды,дyмaю лyчшe нe вклaдывaть cвoи дeньги в кpиптoвaлютy. Пycть xpaнят cвoи дeньги пoд пoдyшкoй дoмa. Биткoин этo pиcк и игpa нa дoлгyю пepcпeктивy.

In my almost four years of getting involved (just an ordinary holder and part-time trader, nothing so great actually), I am so sure that Bitcoin can be a major source of stress especially if you bought them at a higher price and then the price made some slide. Now, I am not saying that it is Bitcoin's fault because stress in the first place depends a lot on our perception and how we are managing it. But definitely, we can categorize as a stressor at some degree.

On the other hand, Bitcoin can also be the source of "happiness" especially when the coin is having a great time jumping upwards. Certainly, there can be euphoria if in 2020 Bitcoin can go higher that its 2017 ATH. Bitcoin is known for extreme volatility and it can go from one side to the other in matter of hours and days.

No wonder that Steve Wozniak the Apple co-founder m/2018/02/02/apple-co-founder-steve-wozniak-on-selling-bitcoin.html]sold his bitcoin because riding the roller coaster stressed him out.

How do you manage any possible stress coming from Bitcoin's volatility?

I have one question, why can’t we wait for the recovery of Bitcoin or any other major currency and do things that cause stress (sell at an unprofitable price)? Do you not believe enough that the coin will be above the price mark at which you bought it?

actually there are many ways to manage the stress that we get from bitcoin investments. try to find out where the stress comes from. if you get stressed from the decline in the price of bitcoin, I suggest you not to check the price of bitcoin too often because it will make you more stressed. I personally started trading daily to get profit (although only a small profit was obtained) and also implemented several trading strategies that I know of (such as cutloss, scalping, etc). and I also started to see other coins that have the potential to increase when the price of bitcoin decreases. I did all of those things so that I wouldn't be stressed when I saw the price of bitcoin decrease

Haha BTC is not for the fainted hearted . Or I would rather say the markets are not for the faint hearteds. It's because he might even be holding fiat in his locker but has he ever realized that even that fiat would have terribly lost it's value since last 10 years. Also the decrease in value of fiat is slow but absolutely certain. While the roller coaster ride of BTC is uncertain but fast. The best solution is to stay away from markets. Best use some paper wallet or trezor wallet and just trust the security you have invested in or the second option is the one he did. I think nothing is greater than your health after all.

Bitcoin is like a variable. It's value changes constantly. It's a source of happiness as well as stress. When you have large amount of Bitcoin, it becomes stress. You think what happened if value of bitcoin suddenly falls, you have to suffer a huge amount of loss. So, yes it can be a source of stress and happiness both depending on how much amount you have.

I try not to make hasty decisions. We must not succumb to the pressure of the media and social networks, we must make independent decisions. I think this will reduce the number of stressful situations during trading

It is a source of stress and happiness. Just like the typical businessman that looks for his business and sudden sees the sales aren't going well. As it's lined with monetary figures, you will definitely have that emotional struggle.

How do you manage any possible stress coming from Bitcoin's volatility?
Well, I'm done with those stressful days. I'm able to adapt it so that's not a matter to me anymore.

If we are engaged in businesses or investment, we are going to expect a stressful life. No wonder that happiness could exist cause we are about to live it that. Stress and Happiness are just the same as losing and gaining, that is what I've to understand here in Bitcoin and not only for bitcoin but of the entire crypto market. Of course, we are happy if we gain profit but we are stress when we lose our funds, that will always play in crypto and nothing to blame that cause that actually how it works.

In this case a calculation will be a way for us to avoid stress, when we are able to prioritize and predict what will happen next in price changes then at least we will avoid buying at high prices but even though we continue to buy at high prices I think the stress can still be avoid if we have patience and are ready to use a holding strategy for a long time. Stress will only occur if we are not ready with the risk but when you can control every incident of the situation that occurs then at least we will still try to get a happiness even though it looks unnatural.

There is nothing about being stressed if you play it right, by playing right I mean first only invest what you can bear to lose then second when it comes to bitcoin I have seen is it is better to buy them when low and store them away for quite some time.
We only stress ourselves from this market and with bitcoin, if you are greedy then you will be stressed if bitcoin turns down your hope for a while. We have to set our mind right, have the best understanding about bitcoin and invest on the right time, I mean while the price of bitcoin is down, better to buy for sure it can bring happiness  to you on next pump.

Many people are like this in this forum, they are posting every time Bitcoin price is sliding down, these are the people who invested without knowing the volatility of the market, for them, all they know and want is profit and increase of price they attach their feelings on the price of Bitcoin, one year of this I'm pretty sure you will experience depression and heart problems, brought by to much worrying in the market.

By building better money that can scale on-chain. That seems to work best for me.

I think it's best to buy them and own them in the long run and sell them whenever you feel profitable.  I have witnessed many investors participating in bitcoin futures contracts, participating in leveraged trading.  They quickly lost money because Bitcoin's exchange rate fluctuations were unstable using technical analysis.

I agree with your opinion, to manage so as not to be pressured by selling every time you feel profitable, and setting aside any profits to buy more bitcoin will reduce the pressure.

Investors in 2017 were really hyped that time especially because bitcoin that time is going on its peak price and the more the higher they invest is the more they lose its value today. They experienced one of the history-changing happenings that happen in 2017 and If they are a true believer of bitcoin they would not sell or bash bitcoin because of its value lost in 2018. We know that bitcoin is still growing and it will soon raise its price again as my speculation.

If you truly believe that bitcoin is the future, buy the dip with fiat that you can spare to not use in the next 3-5 years (even longer).
Better to have some btc as it's historically appreciating vs fiat. And it's really portable, no one can seize your bitcoin and you can send something of value anytime anywhere as long as you have an internet connection.

3-5 years that's really long and that's a good example of long term hold.
When you can hold at that period and you survive, that means you really believe in crypto as the market is very volatile, even in just a short span of time anything could happen, but of course at the end of the day, this all depends on your target.

For example, you bought btc at $8k now, and your target is just to sell it at $80,000 (that's 10 times), and if that will be achieved in just one year, just don't hesitate to sell it regardless if you heard some rumors that it could rise further as greediness sometimes is our biggest enemy.

My source money investment from joining bounty campaign I don't care with how lower price bitcoin later, I can't stress because I use money for investing with bitcoin from free way to earn bitcoin. Lost or not is not really have to disappointed, maybe for other investor sold their house or loan from bank use to invest with bitcoin and price down they will be stress with bitcoin investment.
