I keep getting mining penalties on my vps. I am not really sure what is causing it. I keep it updated/upgraded and rebooted every 24. My ipfs is cleared. This last time it crashed within 8 hours of last reboot while I was sleeping. I think it must be on my end, I'm just not sure what is causing it.

If you run node on 1GB vps, low ram memory is causing it, minimum is 2GB now. Hetzner has good deals, 3e for vps with 1 core and 2GB ram. https://www.hetzner.com/cloud

I have 4 GB of swap.... But, yeah I only have 1 GB of memory otherwise. I guess I can upgrade it the price is going up some so the profit margin is growing a bit. I expect it will go up more in future so it is worth it to upgrade, but I dont want to if i dont have to.

It does not perform good under swap, its pretty much useless. 2GB is a must at this point.

I have a question. Where can I get the invitation code or who can share it? You can try in the IDENA Telegram groups (is getting more difficult by the day to get one, the invites are limited): https://t.me/IdenaNetworkPublichttps://t.me/Idenacodes

I genuinely think that Idena is much better than 99% of the coins which are being discussed in this section of the forum. It has its own and unique consensus mechanism. It has more than 5000 unique humans/minters. It has one of the most active community (this topic is being bumped all the time) considering such a small market cap. What else new coin can brag with such things?
Unique consensus? Maybe unique approach of joining the mining/minting pool. But consensus is another thing.

I was under the impression that the oracle voting built into the wallet was a consensus protocol. What would you consider it then? Maybe you have not used recent versions? The proof of person to verify is something completely different...

Register to Hetzner via this link and you will get 20eur free to spend on VM during next 2 months.
Sorry to say that but reflinks are illegal to be included to posts on bitcointalk. You can ask people to write PM to you if reflink is a win-win solution. My raspberry pi idena node doesnt want to synchronize
Isn't raspberry pi too weak for idena node?

Consensus Algorithms in Blockchain A consensus algorithm is a procedure through which all the peers of the Blockchain network reach a common agreement about the present state of the distributed ledger. source: https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/consensus-algorithms-in-blockchain/As far as I know Idena uses BFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerance) consensus. The proof of person to verify is something completely different...Agree, but this is not consensus. This is how you can join the "validators pool", not how blocks are validated/added to the blockchain (consensus).

It is a consensus. POW is a consensus where 1 hash = 1vote, POS is a consensus where 1$ = 1vote, POP is a consensus where 1 person = 1 vote. "PoW and PoS (proof of stake) are the two best known consensus mechanisms." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proof_of_workSo Proof of Person is also a consensus mechanism.

Pi 4 - 2GB ram with no desktop, golang 1.6, i have no problem following tutorial, idena node builds correctly and everything seems to work. i have installed it 4 times from scratch and always fails at the same time. first installation was node 0.24.1 with golang 1.5, i took 10 hours to synchronize with no problem till the last process batch when it fails. free memory was more than 700M so i dont think its a memory problem. second installation was node 0.24.2 with golang 1.6, 10 hours to synchronize till the last process batch when it fails again. Again more than 600Mb of free memory. third and fourth installation , i downloaded idenachain.db for fast synchronization but happens the same, synchronize some process batch and fails at the last one. and always when it fails stdout.log tells me same errors: --invalid block roots --invalid max fee --peer has been banned I tried to email at info@idena.io but hey!! surprise, my gmail returns the mails saying its not working. i joined telegram group to ask some admin but no response from devs, so i post here waiting to see if someone did the same and could fix it.

Which install process you follow? Can you post here all your steps which you doing? I'm thinking to move the node on Pi, but I think that 2GB is not enough. I see many complains from people who are running a node on a VPS server with 1GB even there are servers with much powerful CPU than on Rasp. Pi.

How did you get that broken link? I want to fix it and improve experience. What OS and browser are you using? For me, Win/Firefox, if you click on link icon or title, copies this link https://idena.site/faq/idena-node-on-raspbery-pi-4And when you visit it, it opens and focuses you on that exact post.
