Bitcoin freelancing is dead?

Bitcoin freelancing or doing such jobs in order to be paid by bitcoin will never been abandoned, why did you say that bitcoin freelancing is dead? Is it because you didn't see nowadays some people who are working and paying them through bitcoins? I still see some online jobs which are the payment is through bitcoin, I have a friend of mine that is working through online teaching and they are paying them through the used of bitcoin or cryptocurrency and I must say that this is a bitcoin freelancing.

myabe OP didn't search any work with bitcoin payment well.as we see in our signature , in every post we paid with bitcoin.and there are many other projects with bitcoin payment that mostly handled by yahoo and hamppuzz. Remote job and freelancing give us various work and oppportunity to earn money, moreover if it paid with bitcoin .we could directly convert to fiat when we want.

I am not sure that freelancing industry is completely dead but what i think is that they have suffered loss due to the dump situation in market and ICO's also have been reduced but with the growth in prices and market recovery we the industry will also grow.Still we can find freelancers but the main problem is to find a legit project which litterally pays for the job as most of them are scams these days.But hope they will also move actively shortly.

The Services board is 99% listings of services rather than people who are looking to buy some; XBTfreelancer is empty or has 1-2 projects most of the time; cryptogrind has mostly just ridiculously underpaid projects or again service announcements (shouldn't they be banned there?), and there's also not much available projects overall; workingforbitcoins has very little traffic, just a few projects per month.

It was theorized that Bitcoin will help alleviate poverty by allowing people to work online without any restrictions, but on practice this just isn't happening. In your opinion, what is the reason for this?

Why not work for fiat and then exchange those to bitcoins as simple as that? If you do really look for some work then you can find for sure knowing freelancing sites
do have lots of works to offer even though they arent giving out Bitcoin payment option but its doesnt mean that this industry is dying.Just like what being said where people
do have those false hopes that Bitcoin do give out wider opportunities in terms of work production but it doesnt work on this way.

Bitcoin freelancing for me is base on the price, the higher the price the more project available and the more job created, and this time that the price is too low there are only few opportunities for someone doing freelancing. Only those people who has a good reputation can get a good project to handle.

But it is also a good thing for someone who can manage campaign because there are lots of low rank in the bounty section that can manage a campaign and showcase their skills.

I've never really seen Bitcoin freelancing as separate from freelancing. I was a freelancer/self-employed person for a period of time until 2006, before having made the decision to relocate to a new place in 2015/16... forcing me to return to freelancing and remote work.

I still took a time to rebuild networks and reputation, before the gigs started flowing back in. And I had to work for a long time to slowly convince people (employers) to pay in bitcoin. Until around 2018 even, some were still paying in paypal or even bank wire but as of today, all my main clients are 100% crypto (only 1 pays in alt) and the few who still insist on paypal or others I no longer focus on as much.

So in practical aspects, I'm about virtually 100% freelancing for bitcoin.

Freelancing works better on upwork and other non-crypto specific platforms (ie. work your ass off by reaching out to people). Then it's your job to convince them to pay in btc. I offer a discount on my rates for bitcoin payments, and that's the clincher. They save 3%-5% on costs, I make it up by also gaining bitcoin feeless and I sell it on a good rate p2p.

I couldn't have said it any better , relying on a freelancer sites with the current bad trends bitcoin market won't give you any solutions... people tend to play safe lately, rather than have to risking themselves buy some bitcoin to pay services while the value could dropped drastically, is it makes any sense? Of course it is.

I was seoclercks customer back in 2014 / 2015 .. I choose them because they accept bitcoin, ethereum and litecoin ... guess they are no longer accept crypto payment since 2017/2018 for undisclosed reason. Now I feel the same like OP who thinks that the crypto freelancers it seems slowly dead left out, that's from a customer view.

This is clearly a single step backward for the progress of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency adoption. Freelancing is a niche where Bitcoin could have thrived since it is mostly done through the internet, and payments asked and made will have to cross borders. Crypto should really be gaining in this billion-dollar niche. But it seems the significant changes of cryptocurrencies' prices which happens all the time is spoiling every potential.

Even if the prices are fluctuating, we can use certain altcoins as a source of payments in the field of freelancing because they don’t undergo significant changes during dips or pumps. Bitcoin could be limited to few freelancing projects that really need some hard work and professionals to handle it. I guess it would be great initiative if cryptos are used in freelancing.

freelancer, and freelance worker, are terms commonly used for a person who is self-employed and is not necessarily committed to a particular employer long-term.

Signature campaigns count as long-term commitment, I haven been a member of my signature campaign for almost 3 years already. Do not mix "online earning" with freelance, freelance is only a subset of the former. Additionally, signature campaigns aren't a good career, they are just a phenomenon caused by the importance of Bitcointalk in Bitcoin's emerging economy, they can and most likely will vanish at one day.

You are really right about the freelancer and the signature of the company.  Before I started cryptocurrency, I was a freelancer and earned money through the Internet, doing various tasks, from writing thematic texts to creating specific programs and architecture for various resources.  Indeed, the signature company is a temporary phenomenon, although not only on bitcointalk, but also on several other sites offer to engage in such activities.  But if you look from the point of view of the final result of this activity, then all this activity is advertising in favor of some companies and if you exclude the company’s signature on bitcointalk, then the entire Bounty company can exist not only to advertise new projects, but also to progress existing ones  companies.

For every business that starts to hire people for bitcoin there are hundreds of people who are looking for work, so freelance didn't die, there is just more competition now. There is actually more work to be done via online working (aka freelance or remote work) but at the same time there are more people who would like to make money that way, hence even when there is more work to do there is also less work to do since it is harder to get hired and get paid as well.

Sad but true I used to do a lot of gigs and hire people for a gig in Fiverr, they used to accept Bitcoin for all their gigs but now they disable Bitcoin, and they still have no announcement if they are still going to accept Bitcoin again, Fiverr was a good opportunity for freelancers who wants to work for Bitcoin but after it was disabled, we have not seen a good and popular marketplace that hires people to do task for Bitcoin.
There were a lot of ICO's that plans to create one but they all failed miserably in the market, people are still hoping, Bitcoin could be a life saver for those who want to work from home doing a task.

I believe this is normal. There are not so many opportunities in this model because even growing in popularity many people still do not see btc as a form of payment but rather as an investment (like gold). When this thinking about btc changes I believe that several opportunities will be created.

in my opinion freelancing is not dead because if we are patient waiting and searching there are still honest ICO projects that we can follow. and also following the airdrop and bounty campaign. although the ICO project was not as busy as it was in 2017. I think it can still be a side job. these past two years we rarely get good projects because we are in the bear market. I am optimistic that when bitcoin bulls there will be many projects that we can do again. and we can also do daily trading.

thats only a theory but there is no real agreement for bitcoin and employers ( or vice versa ) that they will provide freelance jobs as offering to the unfortunate ones.

. anyway i still agree on your observation that free lancing sites for cryptos are not really active because im also one of those people who lurk online to find some sideline jobs but sadly thats only what i end up .   there are those active freelance sites but they dont accept or pay crypto and the slots are limited plus its not easy to apply for them .

Sad to hear that, but most probably it is because of all the volatility of bitcoin. Companies or institutions are hard pressed to keep bitcoin reserves because of the risk that the value will suddenly increase or decrease because whatever value they have, they still have to pay a fixed amount of regular operating expenses.

If we see more adoption and stabler valuations I'm sure this can easily change for the better.

everything very dinamic in market.day by day market has different condition.if could not follow this changes i am sure we will be the one who deleted from crypto market.bitcoin freelancing actually has many opportunity to earn money, there are many job provided here.unfortunately most of them didnt understand how to catch it.

I think your looking at this in a wrong method, I wouldn't argue that Bitcoin freelancing is dead as a whole, but instead freelancing as a whole has been going downhill ever since everything has become a lot more professional.

The only companies that ever really hired freelancers are the new startups that would like to save a couple of bucks and go with a design/marketing/development agency, or a regular person who can't afford that much.

With the industry becoming a lot more professional and less start up and crypto start ups that are popping up, we are obviously going to see the market shrink.

I strongly disagree too that freelancing in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency is dead, it is not dead, the opportunity on it has just lessen compare to the past few years where there's a lot of opportunity surrounding the telegram, internet, bitcointalk. But, there are still some opportunities, we just need to check out on ourselves.

The competitions between employee is now getting tighter since a lots of people/professionals who wanted to work online is really increasing, you need to sell your skills and make sure that you really deserve the position or you can lowered your rate and work with those employers who are seeking
for slaves.

In regards to those sites that mentioned by OP, interest has been decreased because the employers and employees who's not really in around
this industry are getting disappointed with volatile nature of bitcoin, price is keep changing so instead of using this payment process they might
stayed with regular fiat and find the service that they've needed/offered.

In the real world, it would be called unemployment, in this environment, it's called head to McDonald's and start flipping burgers.

This will have a lot of further effects in the market, one of which is that will a lot of people willing to work, prices will drop, you won't be able to charge the customer too much as he has a lot to choose from. And the tricky part is that with no government involvement (lols, love the irony in this one) there is no minimum wage in freelancing, so if somebody decides he is willing to do the job for 2$ an hour, he will get it and ...there is no unemployment benefit either.....

Lols, I think I have seen tens of ICOs that were claiming they will solve the problem of freelancers and they will get you better payments better ....everything. But if you use common sense and realize that no matter what technology you have at hand if you don't have water you can't grow fish, it was clear from the start that all those projects depend on people that are offering those jobs
