After I read about lots of people who are having troubles to get their coins out of Poloniex I was getting serious about this after Poloniex was giving out the informations that they will stop their service for US customers starting from 1st November 2019 and another "friend of crypto" asked me if I have problems with "Poloniex", too.
I answered: No, but I can test it. ... what happened in the last hours while the test is shocking.

Well, I still had an account with Poloniex (Verified for up to 25.000 USD daily withdrawal) but never 2FA activated.
Everything should work in a perfect way. Why not? I am full verified.
I logged in my account with the typical security questions. Started the withdrawal for ETH and a dust of XMR both mined myself (all together just about USD 2100+).
Like always the security mail arrived. You have to click the link. You have to review the transaction details and then finally accept the transaction with a last click. I finished this together with a good friend, while we were watching thru some more documents of another datacenter project which will come up in 2020.

Everything was running like normal with my transaction, but suddenly an email arrived that for security reasons my transactions are canceled. What? Why?
I have to withdraw to a known crypto address used before to withdraw or I have to log in with a known IP address  Shocked

I am fully verified and I choosed how the auth is working, while my email is already special secured!
I was not amused about that and asked them in a strict email to react now or I will maybe loose money. Of course this happened, because I was going to swap the coins to "somehwere" else and now the price is back in the sky (bad for me to buy in).
After more then 2 hours they got another email from me with a bit of "hard words", but still fitting to their behavior. They were able to answer just in time. Aha? A normal request will get a low priority and they dont give a shit about you as customer? That was a salty taste to the shit taste already in my mouth   Grin

I answered them that I cannot serve the old BTC address (and wont for security reasons!) and I have an ISP with a dynamic ip address from time to time my IP will change.
Now they said and forced me to use the APP. Well, I refused this and was asking why all this problems. I am a customer with full verification!
Anyways, the APP was allready installed. I started and logged in. Even if they try to scam me, they cannot. My security email is not the email on my mobile Smiley
Going thru the next step and suddenly my account was BASIC and not veryfied anymore!? They just canceld my state. Wow! THAT IS SCAMMING and no longer an accident! My full account is disabled; even my funds are not visible any longer. Well, I have all proofs here even if they try Tongue
I now have to upload them again all ID cards and a personal pictures.

After several tries the system had many problems to get my files.
Not that the verification was not working; it was even not possible to finish it (1 of 3 tries failed with an error message).
I sent them my passport plus picture. After 15 minutes it got declined.
I sent them my ID card (back and front, fresh scanned) plus picture. Again my verification got rejected. (and of course I followed all instructions in the right way!)

With the last email I am asking them not any longer as customer; but as a representative of the international press - with my digital press id card attached. (of course I can take a picture with me and all cards in a row - fresh from today; but that is not allowed like Poloniex is saying!)

And I am not asking them any longer about "my money", but why I am reading and hearing those problems in the last weeks/month more often about Poloniex? That is now my question and for all circumstances I do this questions now PUBLIC!
Why people, who registered in the past as wallet users and who are sometimes fully verified like me, are not getting their coins?
Why gets a verification state of 25.000 USD per day (activated last year) rejected, when you try to payout all your remaining coins? Never exchanged anything for real and just using the service as wallet user without any bank transactions?
I never had USDT, USD or anything. Just a wallet service for me.

They will just answer you, if you use profane language and they are not doing any real service. In this case the answer was in my box after minutes. Wow, what a professional support this is! I am really scared and shocked. Is this the level of support someone should provide for customers who are giving you important values? Cry

I have a feeling like with BTCe/WEX in the past. Cold and Dark! And it started with such "small problems". Then the behavior got more and more strange! (like now) ... and the end of the story ... everyone knows or lets say "we all mastered to forgot it".
Is Poloniex in trouble?  Angry

Good thing: With Wex I lost 25.000 USD; but with Poloniex I really dont care this time. My friend (Attorney in U.S.) already has an email what are the next steps, like you can see my english is just good enough to tell you this warning.

This is a warning at least about the customer service of Poloniex that is not longer working in a right way; and about all the behavior and rules they came up with.
But if you see the facts, it could be all by chance, but the circumstantials are adding up:

- Canceling the transaction with bad reasons, no support answers or actions.
- Deleting the state of a full verified customer, after this customer is complaining about the transaction issues and sending the LAST REMINDER.
- Not answering the customer questions, not helping the customer or just if you escalate it you will get a useless answer.
- Giving commands, like using the APP, which is not working
- Dont let the verification process happening again; not with an official passport, not with the official ID card and even not with my official international press ID card I even could enter war zones!
- Plus the official news that Poloniex will leave the US market / Circle on 1st November 2019.
- And finally not answering or entering the task of how to compensate the customers for their loosing.

Maybe you can withdraw small amounts, a %-ratio of your total or a share without a problem, only?
Maybe you can use Poloniex as normal - who knows?
But better be carefull a bit and try to get more informed about them right now and what is happening.
While they asked you all privacy informations you will have fake names like "Luna" without a family name in the support center.

The angel seems maybe to transform into a fallen angel.

I am not very active any more. All my projects are running (well, not the one with the fire ... but dont let us talk about that ...)
I am "fine" and "full".  Those USD 2.100 are not hitting me, but I felt a responsibility to inform this community first about the "state of Poloniex" at least today.

I can proof my whole story at any time ...

I have been a user of Polo before and never encountered any problem whatsoever with any of my transactions. I am still a verified user of that exchange but for the past months, I already took my coins out of that exchange so I don't really have idea of their current services. Thank you for this warning, at least I know I should be very careful in dealing with Polo from now on.

Any other users who have bad experience with Polo lately?

Well, I am a user since ... wow ... years of Polo. Like of Kraken, Bleutrade etc. etc. etc.
Just mining my personal dust of XMR and ETH to Polo. Not real business and to lazy to make a MetaMask address.

And of course WEX had no problems before (that was BTCe) until the one day ... END

The service. The reaction. Everything is far far under the level it should be, if someone is dealing with my "money" or "coins".

Like said: I am not sure and just informing you what happened to me and the combination of some strange "happenings" around "Poloniex / Circle" ... etc.

Everyone has to find his own way. For me Polo is dead now, even if I have to exchange a big bunch again someday.

Hello Poloniex Customer,

We’re emailing to notify you that Poloniex will be spinning out from Circle into a new company called Polo Digital Assets, Ltd. As a result, your account will be transferred to the new company and remain frozen. No action is required by you at this time.

A few things to note:
- Your login credentials will stay the same
- How you access the Poloniex site will remain the same

As part of the spinout, Circle will cease all trading operations for Poloniex US customers on November 1, 2019. As a non-US customer, there is no action for you to take at this time.

The full announcement can be found here and our Customer Support team is available to answer any questions you may have. Visit our Help Center or reply to this message and we will get back to you quickly.

Team Poloniex

They have emailed about the company spin out. Maybe they're just busy about this. But that's not an excuse. Anyway, they are known for bad support just like any other shitty Exchange. I've been there since 2017. But when Binance was introduced to me. I switched to Binance.

I really really hope that you are right and they are just "shitty", but that is no excuse for revoking my customer state.

That means they had time to do something and just sabotated a customer.
They are playing with coins like with poker chips at home!

I think there is a deeper reason that they leave USA.

Remember - Remember - BTCe.com was seized by U.S. goverment and tried to restart with WEX (and maybe some coins from cold storages or whatever).
But they never came back and that broke the neck of them. Maybe the neck of Polo is already broken and they just want to prevent "steps"?
The reason why I will be active against them before 1st November Smiley
Or we all will sing: Remember - Remember - the 1st of November @Polo

I think it is very suspect that they are leaving the U.S. market and the problems are coming up right now.
A reason why I always trusted them - at least controlled by the U.S. banking supervision.

Like said: I hope you are right and my feeling is wrong, but something out of 8 years of crypto is telling me ... CAPTAIN: RED ALERT! SHIELDS UP!  Shocked Roll Eyes Grin

I think you're just getting the short end of the stick here. There are a couple of verification sites/exchanges where it takes me 2-3 tries for my ID to get accepted, even though it's me just taking the photo again (for example Binance, Localbitcoins and Kraken) all had these issues for me, for some reason.

It's understandable that they would request you to send funds to your old addresses or use your old IP addresses since it's a safety precaution but it's very confusing why you weren't allowed to withdraw after verifying your ID.

Good luck OP, hope it get's fixed - don't think it's an exit scam, just them being weird.

Mate, I was already fully verfied. That is the point. Please read the whole story and sorry for my bad englisch.
I am happy about every comment, but please catch the full story and content.

And read about BTCe.com / WEX in here (somewhere in Bitcointalk) to get the start and the end.
The first "problems" coming up with WEX and almost nobody was believing in problems (just those who remained from BTCe.com)
4 weeks later ... everybody was ... a believer Smiley

Even if everything is just a "bad customer support joke" and they are not in "problems", it is the worst customer support in years and on the edge to be legal (maybe already over it).

In my opinion at least the person(s) who gave the the personal answer and who ignored my answers, stealing my coins or preventing me from using my coins are just BASTARDS.

... and I really hope they try to go to court for that to charge me, because in my country this is a personal statement (opinion) and allowed  Shocked Grin
But like the language. I can understand them, but they cannot understand me.
I understand that under USD 10.000 the way to court is easy and short in the U.S.
For USD 2.000 to 3.000 even in every state like I know it (well, like my englisch ... 60% to know is more then 0% ; but U.S.-friends will help) Wink

The support ist arrogant and a shame for all customer supports in the world! With this service it is no wonder that they have to leave USA. Service has to be first for such a business in USA.
In my "first life" without money I was working for customer supports. With this performance I would be fired the day! And that would be the best thing to happen to me!

Sorry, I should have clarified - I understand that you are verified (ID wise), but if your accessing your account from a different IP, or a different device, it could have promoted this shit storm. For example, I know localbitcoins needs you to verify via 2FA and email if you're accessing their website from a different IP/device. My apologies.

And read about BTCe.com / WEX in here (somewhere in Bitcointalk) to get the start and the end.

It's, unfortunately, the case with all exchanges. Had an issue with Kraken, it took them 2 days to respond to me. Couldn't get verified on LBC, took me an extra 2 weeks. If you are using an exchange, there's one thing that's consistent, and that's arrogant/shitty/unresponsive/unknowledgeable customer support agents.

Look for a legal way here. You can even try threaten legal action and that might be able to accomplish something, but you are getting screwed over here and there's a good chance of your being able to hit them with a lawsuit and get a decent payout.

It would be just another day and another crooked exchange. I swear ALL of the exchanges are here to rip us off, I’m talking to all major large exchanges, mt gox would not be the last fraudulent exchanges, there will be more in the future, and even larger than mt gox.😂

The angel seems maybe to transform into a fallen angel.

Definitely, that can be the best statement that can fully described your recent bad experience with Poloniex and can also be a prophecy for what will happen with this once-popular cryptocurrency exchange soon. Poloniex is destined to be just another footnote in the colorful history of cryptocurrency.

I remember that in 2016, this was truly a known and trusted exchange and many of my friends who got into cryptocurrency had their fist taste of trading in this platform. I am sad to see that it has deteriorated a lot and will not have a good chance of getting back the glory it lost to overeager and more innovative competitors.

We can say that Poloniex is already dead. Unless, of course, a big miracle save it from eventual oblivion.

How could poloniex be an exit scam when there an American based digital asset exchange? It seems to me there may be more to the story than meets the eye?
Have you entered all of the KYC information as they ask for? You say you're fully verified but no 2FA.
Doesn't seem likely that they would get far even if they did edecided to scam anyone.
Have you ever gambled using your Poloniex account or anything else that may be questionable before the transaction?

Mate, you didnt get the content. It was a "wallet" for me. Nothing else. ETH, XMR and maybe in the past (2-3 years ago) some BTC and LTC.
I was already verified with all my data.

And of course I was able to verify me again with my passport plus picture of mine (not working).
With my ID-Card (scanned or as photo) and of course back and front.

And I am not doing such stuff or verifications the first time.

What they did is and was an illegal action.
They are leaving the U.S. market, what I already wrote down as information, on 1st November.

Whatever you are not seeing - at the end they did actions far over the normal ways!
After revoking manually all the new identification tries, and it was manually like you can proof by the timestamps - now it is still pending over 24 hours.

On monday 2 letters will be send by courier and the fun will start. They did it by purpose, I have the proofs and it is not because any KYC rules are touched or a problem.

And now they will pay for it a lot of bucks  Grin

This is not a story. It is a warning about what could happen with Poloniex.
At least, that they are not the right company to deal with your coins. Trust down.

WE NEED A TECHNICAL GURU HERE!

Who can maybe check and proof how many "funds" Poloniex has left.
It was possible with BTCe / Wex in the past, but I find no starting point for Polo.

ANYONE OF THE BIG TECHNICAL NERDS AND GURUS IN HERE ANY IDEA?  Shocked Cool

I used Poloniex in 2018 and I had constant problems with withdrawing funds. It bothered me and I left this exchange, but now I see that Poloniex has become even worse. People needs to be very careful when working with this exchange.

Thanks for the thread!

Yeah. As a wallet user it is driving me crazy, too. The "happy reason" I stopped using them and had this "dust" left for testing.
I can understand that the KYC-rules are strict. So I can accept a double verification for log-in and for the transaction and that you need a verification.

But I will never accept the action they did - yeah and the behavior is getting more and more strange. I hear you +1

Here's a starting point. The Poloniex hot wallet, which holds about 5,500 bitcoins: https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/Poloniex.com
And this is their most recent Ethereum hot wallet, holding about 77,000 ether: https://etherscan.io/address/0xa910f92acdaf488fa6ef02174fb86208ad7722ba

If you dig through those wallets, you should be able to find some cold storage addresses. I have no idea where to start with their plethora of altcoins, though.

You should move it to scam accusation, so that many can give an opinion on your problem.

This is a Polinex email to me. It says that they will be moving to the new company Polo Digital Assets Ltd,

What do you think? Is this one of the tactics of the exit scam?

I posted it in "Scam". Thank you for the idea. I was thinking about the right departement in here so long ... and had no idea Smiley

I AM CLOSING DOWN THIS.
