List of useful Bitcoin block explorers

Disclaimer: this topic was created by 1miau. However, at our joint request, on Dec 18th, 2023 theymos changed the ownership of the topic to me. This information was also confirmed by 1miau here


I've collected some of the most famous Bitcoin block explorers including a column for supported features like displaying native SegWit bech32-addresses or giving the possibility to identify an outgoing transaction from nested SegWit P2SH addresses. Finally, I've rated them from my side how useful each block explorer is. The better the rating, the more detailed the explorer is.

I'm sorry but my favorite one is not mentioned in your list.
Personally I like using https://btc1.trezor.io/ because it manages zpub keys. So it's more convenient for tracking the transactions of your segwit wallet.

Ok, yes looks like Blockchain.com added bech32 support after I reviewed it in september (I created the list a few weeks ago in the German section and didn't check all the entries again, so I've noted a date when I reviewed the block explorers):

I can add "yes" to P2SH SegWit addresses but it's a bit difficult to spot in Trezor Bitcoin Explorer, BTC.com displays it in the following way:

Another one is: https://www.blockonomics.co/
The user interface of this block explorer is superb. Very simple and really fast to navigate anywhere once you already in the site, like for searching wallet addresses' transaction or any transaction searching.
I only admire this block explorer because they support segwit native bech32 wallet addresses, the addresses that starting with bc1, because some block explorer still don't support these kind of addresses and also P2SH addresses and legacy addresses too.

i suggest adding a new column about their API and whether that also supports bech32 addresses or not. most of them don't last time i checked. https://www.blockonomics.co/ and https://btc.bitaps.com/ do support it to my knowledge.

there is also blockstream which i don't really like since i can't access it without a VPN!!! but it is good since they support all kinds of scripts and the details button show you the script type and the OP codes.

I think a reclassification with such ratings would be useful for beginners.

I think problem with this explorer is that your IP has been blacklisted. Reporting on right side as 'Errors1'
Looks like it is using blockchair for that:

Good idea but that would exceed the size of my table and in general I thought more about a simple table for Beginners + Help.
If you want, you can copy parts of my table and create a technical version in Technical Discussion including also some known issues like displaying the accurate fees, since quite a few sites are confusing sat/byte and sat/vbyte (at least the last time I checked). Like Blockchair.com is giving a very detailed list for that.

It's very useful, but that would be too much for my table.

All BlockCypher APIs that use addresses — including the address API, transaction API, webhooks, etc. — for bitcoin, bitcoin testnet, litecoin, and BlockCypher’s testnet now support Bech32...

I detected that site one year ago but forgot it's name, so many thanks for the reminder.
Why such a bad rating, only because it's not accessible from your country? 
I liked the site very much when I detected it, I'm not even sure why I forgot about it.

Wow, never heard from it but it's really impressive.
I'll create a new category called "other interesting sites" for sites that aren't really blockexplorers but related to it (I didn't try too, but it seems more like a visualisation software, not like the common block explorers.)

Strange, I tried with different IPs and it doesn't work. Especially because the explanation makes no sense for me and Blockchair is working. Will try again in a few days, but even if it works for few people it can be useful.
