Hi all,

I have been working on a design for a 1 Oz Silver Bar and would like to mint 100 pieces.
Also I am creating a custom security hologram for the back (design will follow).
The front design is the bitcoin vault for safely storing your money.
On the back hologram I am in the process of designing a ‘going down the rabbit hole’ holographic illustration,
which, I think, all bitcoiners have experienced.

- I have printed 20 gloss photo’s, size 20 x 15 cm, numbered, signed and COA to sell to fund a part of the manufacturing costs.

Does anybody know a ballpark figure on how much the minting and hologram would cost?
Do you guys think there is a market for 100 Bars and what would the price need to be to sell them?

I guess it depends how much you will be marking up the 1 oz of silver and what the details of the hologram are, and if key already on it or DIY.

Love seeing new stuff pop up!  I am def interested and I think with a reasonable mark up they will sell well.  Just don't pull a defcon on us and mark them .999 Fine Silver when they're really only silver plated

Those were made in late 2016 and we haven't seen anything similar in a few years so yours would be a welcome addition to many people's collections.

Minting 100 1oz silver bars with holograms would likely cost you between $2,900-$6,200 depending on the type/quality of the dies and holograms.

Looking at recent market resales, I'd say they'd likely sell in the $40-$100 range depending on if there's any additional features or infrastructure.

My advice, don't do it if it's something you want to do strictly for profit.  You will likely be disappointed and would be better off speculating on Bitcoin.  If it's something you've always wanted to do, you want the experience, or you think you will enjoy it, go for it!

Omicron, I love it.   I’d love to see the design for the back as well.   I did a series of 100 bars a few years ago.  If you have any questions or any tips getting started, shoot me a PM.   Good luck with your project.   Count me in for purchasing one as well.

@OgNasty, It’s a hobby project. I want to create something cool for the bitcoin community, so time spend on design etc. will not be taken into account in the price. But I have to think this true, buying some BTC is also very valid.

@Rmcdermott927, That’s a cool bar you produced. I will shoot you a PM for infos.

Maybe Feedback/ Merit in the 10th anniversary art contest thread could help to get funds for the project.
