I've heard his name numerous times on the forum, but sad to say I still don't really know who he is.  He's made some wild predictions about bitcoin, correct?  Did he make a specific prediction that was supposed to have come true by now?  Just curious.  I wish I had the patience to keep track of all the predictions these people make, not only in crypto but also in other markets like gold & silver.  These "big names" have no compunction about saying bitcoin or gold is going to the moon by a certain time and then somehow that prediction gets lost in the sands of time and nobody ends up caring about the accuracy of their predictions.

And they make these predictions to keep their names in the news, to keep them relevant and also probably to hype whatever asset they're making the prediction about.  It's a fucking disgusting practice but a very common one in crypto and in the metals markets.

I've pretty much ignored predictions and just hunker down and watch the trend. If I fail at this then I only blame bad prediction, which is better than blaming myself for believing someone else.

I knew he made predictions before that didn't come true but didn't he also promised to do something before that he never did? Despite how nutty he appears sometimes I doubt he'd push through with this.

Maybe op just do sarcasm. But what must we concerned is when people really easily to believe what he said, maybe for now bitcoin price still on safe price to buy. I feel sorry about that but I guess you have been victimized by McAfee's promises and you're not the only one. Next time, you shouldn't trust anyone here too fast. Try to do some research first before you invest. Mcafee's reputation has been ruined so there's no guarantee that you could still gain that profit. Promised to give you or a promise that BTC will go at a certain price? McAfee and other famous person and big companies such as Binance (if I recall it correctly) made a guess and say that it is easy to predict bitcoin price at a certain time lol. Bitcoin in nature is really unpredictable but we could atleast make a sort of intuition or a feeling that Bitcoin market will somehow go somewhere close to this and that but not so precise like McAfee stated. Now that it did not go to where you believe so don't believe right away to claims because the person who said is known by many people.

I believe that celebrity, and McAfee refers specifically to this type of media personalities, can not be taken seriously.
Trump recently said that Bitcoin is useless, then at the congress Zuckerberg was told that he should abandon Libra and adapt Bitcoin for Facebook. Where is the logic?
They just say that they benefit and nothing more. They give them favorable forecasts without relying on reality.

John McAfee always give surprise with ICO and altcoin for investing, he is always try to make investor interested with him by announcing with good ICO and prediction with bitcoin price at the future, many his prediction with altcoin and ICO project incorrect with lower price, I ever hear about his suggestion to buy etn ICO coin but price down after listing with exchange market.
