Guaido used a little known section in the constitution of Venezuela to elect himself as "interim" president.  Whether you agree that Maduro is not competent to be president is no longer relevant. Guaido had 30 days to initiate the political changes, and he hasn't done it. This means that he no longer has a claim against Maduro, and the US will have to invent some other puppet to use.

I would remind my readers that the last US president of Venezuela ( Rafael Caldez ) was a real disaster for Venezuela, and led to an increase in poverty. It resulted in the election of Hugo Chavez, who instigated massive social reform, and this took Venezuela into one of the top positions in South America. The US didn't like this, and have spent years trying to reverse the process of social reform there. The actions of Guaido during the couple of days that he was able to initiate some proposed changes, shows the direction in which the US wishes to drag the country and it's people.

Whenever the US of A try to establish a sock puppet in a foreign country, it somehow backfires.

Fulgencio Batista Cuba
Ngô Đình Diệm South Vietnam
Reza Shah Pahlavi Iran
Saddam Hussein Iraq
Manuel Noriega Panama
The list could go on and on.

I doubt they will. I think from a political point of view, since more and more countries accepting Guadio, there is no way back. This coup will continue until Maduro is gone.

I am convinced they know what they are doing. Destroying another country with their hegemony for industrial benefits.
Question is: When will the rest of the world learn?

I'm an English observer who doesn't really have any direct contacts any more, but it looks to me as if the US is now two countries. Rhere is Washington which seems to be determined to take over the world and build the new world order, and the mainland America. America is being stripped of its assets, and the people dehumanised in preparation to the economic collapse that will arrive eventually. This is possibly the only way that the US can lose it debts. It's difficult to understand the policies of the controlling forces though. They seem to be pushing Germany, and thus the EU, into the arms of China and Russia, and attempting to sever trading links with them. What will happen if Germany pulls out of NATO?

Pretty sure they did. I remember watching one episode of The Daily Show about Iraq. The narrative changed at one point to another from "to implant the seed of democracy" to "weapon of mass destruction". I still don't understand why people are so blind to their hypocrisy.

Note: By America, I mean the government of America at that time. I don't know what they're doing right now, but it seems history repeats itself.

America has become two countries, and I'm noticing that people are starting to refer to Washington as the new globalist tool loading debt onto America to expand a globalist empire. It is forcing allopathic medicine on the world to enrich the Pharma companies, and to reduce the world population. It is forcing regime change on countries to seize national assets, and to expand its military empire. Venezuela is one example, whilst they ignore the problems in Columbia and the Yemen. Why are they insisting that they "protect" the Philippines from China, when they are told by the Philippines that they are not wanted? Why are they threatening sanctions on Southern Ireland  for banning Israeli goods? It's nothing to do with Washington, and Ireland should be able to decide on its own trade policies - well it can't because it's under the control of the EU, but I'm sure you understand what I mean. I could also mention the gold they have accepted as a bribe by ISIS, and this is gold stolen from Syrian, but Washington needs this to buy poisonous medication to force on America and other 3rd world countries that are dependent on aid.

Well, I could list the success histories too, starting with Pinochet.

It has always been two countries when the northeast started to be industrial and the south kept living on agriculture and slavery. The Civil War has never been completely over.

Bear in mind anyway that many states in "mainland US" vote for a party that is know for going frequently to war.

Whatever other countries support is meaningless. If de-facto power is held by Maduro - and that means that he has sufficient support from the military - you can say that the president is Mickey Mouse and will have the same effect.

Perhaps on a country with strong links with the international community, it could matter... just a bit.

It is a success story for the United States. Obviously not for the Chileans or not for a large majority of them.

The underlying problem is the constant belief of the United States goverments in solving their issues with latin american countries by means o obliterating any government that oposes their economic interests, but with little regard on how stable can be the society that has to "endure" such governments. The result cannot be other than a shift to the opposite sign as soon as the imposed goverment has a sign of weakness and then again, an expensive, inhuman and antidemocratic intervention... rinse a repeat.

It just seems that USA is unable to apply
