Hi ,
I am here to report my experience with freewallet. I have 2 account there: the first was created with Facebook in 2017 and there received some earnings of genesis mining and other mining services. Second was created with e mail in February 2019.

On Monday I received a monero transaction in the wallet created with e mail (it was not the first transaction I made there) and when tried make operations they wrote me email that my wallet was freezed for suspected activity.
They ask me to proof the origin of my funds, send ID, send social media account, bill, proof of residence, selfie; a lot of information. I made all of this yesterday and I am still waiting the answer of their technical support.

I have coinbase account and kraken account where I have verification till 3 point: I never had to make selfie of me or other things.
It was a bit frustrating and not good, because I don’t like make pictures of me even in private life.
But I made for solve the issue.

Till now they are answering me at any doubts and seem collaborative but don’t know how much time must wait. Here it is only a way to accelerate the process maybe someone of freewallet reads.

What I don’t like is that it would be good by them if in the moment of registration they ask ID and selfie not when they want and under their discretion.

My 2 ID wallets are:
Facebook id freewallet is 6ef77756
Wallet with e mail freezed is 91360576

Not sure what you want to achieve by posting this here now while there are hundreds of people online that have complained before about Freewallet and how you should not be using their service because they keep freezing funds for the absurdest of reasons.

You didn't read the warning label my friend.

Users who are not willing to install desktop wallet somehow resorted to signing up on blockchain.com as their webwallet and not to freewallet.org. I guess blockchain.com is somehow acceptable even it being an online wallet.  You will have to decide whether is it worth submitting KYC and selfies than just give up and forget about the coins you have to them.

I made kyc procedures and selfie yesterday; I don’t have nothing to hide.
But as you can imagine it would be better in their site a message like: “before register in freewallet, remember that we can ask you under our discretion Kyc procedures and selfie..

After all it is only an online wallet not an exchange

Good luck. As already mentioned, lots of users already complained about them. Nobody understands what the duck is wrong with them, as (as fratoshi already pointed out) they're a friggin wallet, not an exchange.

Considering their shady practices, nobody should be using them. We've got a plethora of good alternatives.

Freewallet are a piece of shit organisation. They selectively withhold user funds with ‘random KYC requests’. It’s supposed to be a wallet not an exchange so I don’t get why they think they can do this.

Please don’t use them. You're not the first & you won’t be the last to run into problems with them.

After all it is only an online wallet not an exchange
I would say it is exchange pretending to be a wallet. Go trough their trust page and read references.

We feel sorry that this procedure makes you stressful.
Nah, you don't. Why don't you update your exchange and ask your users to provide you id's on registration like every other financial institution which complies with AML and CFT laws is doing?

Thank you to all the people that answered me..

What I can say it is:
That they pretend by some people kyc and ID, selfie etc etc but them still remain anonymous. In other’s exchange you know the CEO like kraken..
They want by us all ID and proofs but they are happy to keep anonymous ..

It is not a balanced relationship

Thanks for making your point.

We don't deem "KYC-for-all" to be an efficient approach.

Well, that is not quite correct to put anonymity of individual against  the purported anonymity of the organization.
An appointed team member can resign and so long whereas the entity organised and existing under the laws remains to be legit.

Yes freewallet. Now I am no more anonymous  Smiley

My idea was to let you know that you could improve saying your customers: before operate and do transaction you have to send us ID proof for verification.

Me I am using your site from the growth and made lot of transactions; it is when you use a lot a service that comes a law habit.

I think FreeWallet uses a name to deceive users so they can deposit coins and then lock them with the excuse of KYC we already seen this scam tactic with Cryptobridge, Hitbtc, Poloniex and Tradesatoshi, they should be using another name, FreeExchange or something else, because clearly is not a wallet, is an exchange that uses the name wallet to make think users that they can safety deposit their valuable coins in their site, i have add them to my scam list on my signature and also left a negative trust because they are selectively scamming users with the excuse of KYC

Passed the KYC easily. Why would you always make so much fuss about it?

And who wants to believe you? You're just another shill of freewallet.

It's not the first time there's been significant amounts of complaints against freewallet, and this should serve as a lesson to you OP that you should never utilise a hosted wallet because they have custody over YOUR coins at any given moment.

Unfortunately, you're in a very sticky situation. They'll likely continue to incite KYC procedures as a necessary means for you to get your funds out, with a completely arbitrary definition of what constitutes "suspicious behaviour". If you want to go the legal route you'll still have to reveal your identity anyways.

You are a Freewallet suckpuppet account that wakes up after 4 months of being inactive, i will leave you negative trust for supporting the Freewallet scam

Now that Freewallet is bringing suckpuppets accounts here i strong believe that they are engaging in criminal activity.

Honestly, you're just lucky they unfreeze your account but I don't why you guys choose to use a wallet services/provider which you're not totally in control of your account and fund.
I will advice you to get a ledger hardware wallet of $59 and empty your account now to avoid future problem.
