Id like to run a blowout auction of various graphicscards, powersupplies, and filler items such as SSD's,ram sticks , stuff like that.
I would like it to remain under computer hardware, last time I did this a mod moved it and it lost all momentum.
Why is is acceptable for collectibles to run auctions within collectibles, but hardware moves to Marketplace/Auctions?
I'm simply covering all bases with this post, I'm data driven , simply put there is much more exposure within this section then the auctions section therefor more money.
We are tight knit over here in hardware I dont see why not really? It would help this section price things a little better too instead of haywire metrics determined by amazon and ebay.
Post some thoughts or rant a little? Let me pick your brain.

I wouldn’t mind seeing auctions in here. The issue would be that there’s more scammers in this section so most auctions would probably be fake. Using escrow would eliminate that concern, but hardware has more problems with user error or faulty parts then collectibles do so I could see things getting a little sloppy. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing some auctions in here. The community just needs to be vocal and critical of potential scammers.

Edit: I meant wouldn't instead of would.  Oops.

Well I think this areas straightened out quite a bit this year.
There are still a few weasels admittedly, but they get called out on their shit.
I'm going to give it a go , the weight of your feedback may help the consensus. @OgNasty
I will however leave a few disclaimers in said auction as to what recourse will be taken if the thread is moved.(if this topic is moved and activity stops after being moved auction may become void for exposure purposes.) Something like that.
I plea to the mods to give this a shot. I look in auctions section and it looks pretty damn sketchy over there the real hardware guys are here.  Over there every auction Is digital based. The only things that don't sketch me out is mods sig rentals and theymos's ad space.

maybe allow a hardware auction to full member vs newbie or jr member

My suggestion to prevent it from being moved is place a BIN price to the auction. You can either set it ludicrously high so it's irrelevant or actually have something in place for if someone wants it right this minute.
I say this as I have reported a few "auctions" if you want to call them that, and they were left there as there was something like Bid in the post despite it being a locked thread, and having a set price. You could also try PMing malevolent, cyrus and hilariousandco to request permission/state your intentions.
The other option is to have a locked thread here that you bump describing the parts and pointing to the auction, seems unnecessary but should be a valid work around.

Good luck
