HISTORY OF FLAMENGO

The Flamengo Regatta Club (better known simply as Flamengo, and popularly nicknamed Mengo, Mengão and Fla) is a Brazilian multi-sporting association based in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Founded in the eponymous rowing district on November 17, 1895, it has become one of the most successful and popular clubs in Brazilian sport, especially for football.
