I'm running Ubuntu with latest Bitcoin Core.

It's updating for the first time, so I quit it and changed bitcoin-qt.conf to include "connect=192.168.1.100" so that it downloads it from the LAN rather than the net. Saved it and restarted bitcoin-qt.

For some reason this command is being ignored and it's downloading from the internet.

For some reason I don't have this problem with Windows v0.18.0, which connects to the 192.168.1.100 node no problem.

I searched the debug file for "192.168.1.100" but couldn't find any clues.

Anyone know why it's ignoring the command?

I noticed that it's now "bitcoin-qt.conf" instead of "bitcoin.conf". I searched for other .conf files but didn't find any.

Which is it now? Latest is v0.18.1. You should test both versions on both systems. If v0.18.0 works on Ubuntu as well, then a regression must have occurred. Once you do, update the thread and I'll file it. Maybe also wipe your debug.log one more time before you do the tests and upload them here (or pastebin).

Did you create the file called bitcoin-qt.conf? (see post under me)

Try to create a "bitcoin.conf" file and copy everything from your "bitcoin-qt.conf" file (or just rename it).
But shutdown Bitcoin Core before doing anything.
