You must consider that you already lost your 12 Ethereum. From next time always keeps your seed phrase in 2 places to be safer side and always try to login through the seed phrase or private key after that do transaction in your wallet & sorry to say there is no way to get back your correct seed phrase.

Isnt strange if mistake happen? Since after create the wallet, theres a check to verify that the seed u save is correct 100%, Possibility is only he send to wrong address or maybe the metamask that he download is a fake one.

Hopefully this is the right place to post something like this.

12 ETH was sent to a new Metamask wallet, and the seedphrase written down. We have all 12 words.

But when we try to restore the wallet, all associated addresses seem to be empty.

I don't think you can copy the seed words properly. This problem is due to not being able to copy. If I could copy it properly, I would not see this problem

its impossible, the word arrangement itself was provided and made to be one of its security features.
i already feel sorry for you though.
try to check if you have backed it up in different way.
thats the only thing i could think of that you could retrieve it.
