I am not going in to this project to much but I could probably come up with something pretty decent.
I can develop or find developers who can code new functional themes or plugins.
I am also looking for someone who knows there way around a VPS/Dedicated Server and MyBB, and is willing to take this project under their wing.
You will like the domain it's good and could potentially bring something new to the table.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I would have suggested epochtalk as well unless you have made up your mind to use mybb. You can find great support from mybb forums https://community.mybb.com you will get access to theme, plugins and some other assistance there.

Why are you guys suggesting to use epochtalk? If it was ready for usage, wouldn't Theymos already be using it for Bitcointalk?
Am I missing something here?
Personally, I have always preferred the way vBulletin works. There definitely seems to be a much larger developer community for vB, so the forum can have much more functionality.
It's not free, however. (unlike MyBB).

It is pretty much ready for usage; it's probably 95% complete. As far as I'm aware currently the main focus is on bug fixing and adding a couple more niche things that Bitcointalk needs to be able to use epochtalk as its main software. For a smaller forum that's starting off, small bugs and the like probably aren't an issue as there isn't a lot to lose, but you kind of want some relatively polished software before starting the long process of migration from SMF.

If it was my forum and I was an inexperienced forum host, I would want to be using the most robust, proven, widely supported forum software available—that's certainly not epochtalk (at least for now). Taking a look at the code though, it does seem promising, but it's been in development for so long it appears it will never be complete.

What's your aim for launching a Bitcoin forum? Obviously, if its to avoid censorship, and add another forum to the mix then that's fine. However, do you have any niches that you'll be focusing on within Bitcoin or cryptocurrencies? Why are you guys suggesting to use epochtalk? If it was ready for usage, wouldn't Theymos already be using it for Bitcointalk?
It needs testing. Any good software needs to be tested vigorously, and having a larger amount of users testing the software is better than just a select few. If it was my forum and I was an inexperienced forum host, I would want to be using the most robust, proven, widely supported forum software available—that's certainly not epochtalk (at least for now).
Decent advice. Well documented forums are probably better for those that are inexperienced, and there's always the possibility of importing the database to different software in the future.

I will be looking for content that is useful and is easy to find on the actual forums we will be covering getting started and mining, then their will be signals and betting with points what you earn from posts, which will eventually can be converted to bitcoins to the users but still on the drawing board with that idea and how to implement where everyone happy.

So, a user can get paid by posting trading tips or something like that? You'll need a considerable amount of time to scroll their post. Instead of doing that, maybe add a similar system like merit and a specific rank where the user's sig space can display ads. From that space, your forum ads will be displayed and the user get a portion of the payment. This might get abused but after you get some traffics you could change it anyway.

I'm going with IPB (Invision Community) currently setting it up can anyone tell me if they can see the forums, I just currently installed it. http://talkbitcoins.netYou are pretty correct when you said we shall like the forum name. If you are the one that listen to advise, i will advise you to remove the IPB installed on your server and get something better and cool. On the other hand, why did you choose IPB ?

It's working well, but not enough for this forum. Some features which are used here haven't been implemented already (AFAIK) like the trust and activity system. And some bugs are also to be expected. http://epochtalk.org/map.html

Hello, I can try to help you if you want. Is this a problem updating the forum ? If yes, what problem do you have with the update system ? Are you on a VPS or shared hosting ?

If you have the passion to set up and run a community but not the technical knowledge regarding the forum and server management, you can also consider coming onboard and working with me on https://emerging.technologyI've built this forum myself over the past 6 months including all customization and it runs really well on both desktop and mobile. There's a section for crypto, as well as sections for blockchain, AI, extended reality, drones and 3d printing. My strength is the technical side, but building a cohesive community is where I'm now looking for super-early adopters who excel with that. I've got a paid position I'm advertising here on BCT for a forum manager, and am also looking for people that can grow the community. There's a blog built into the forum here https://emerging.technology/cc, as well as an ERC-20 token that has been created and incorporated into the forum itself with the ability to award the token for a range of different activities. I'm also looking to work with people that are passionate about game design and tokenomics. Anyway if you're interested in building a community, let's talk and if all makes sense you can start straight away.
