unsure....is this a paper wallet or just a memory key?

look closely at the input....i spent 1/2 hour one time putting in private key to find out (through frustrated tears) it was not a 2 but a z Smiley

other than that ...space maybe at the end or some other space issue?

good luck

Are you trolling? For import your private keys doesn't necessarily to ask developer. And are you sure you are going to pay 10000 bitcoin for solve that? You may try some other wallet to import your private keys where support import this option. You may use also Electrum to recover your fund by yourself. Are you sure you are using latest version for clients? If not check for latest version as well. Since you want to restore that means you are holding your private key and you may use some other wallet instead. Or may be there is something wrong with your private key as @Searing already said, if not then try other clients. Hope your problems will be resolved.

By the way, if really you have fund on your address/wallet then be careful, likely someone will ask on your PM to help you, don't handover your private keys to scammer. Don't share credential info with anyone.  So many scammers around us. So stay calm and try with patience by yourself. Do not trust anyone with huge amount of fund. Money could changed mind as well.

i'm serius with 10000 bitcoin. i have millions of coin in the private key i got

Any chance you can point us to this address that was funded by millions of BTC? I realise asking you to sign a message is moot if you don't know how to import your private key into a wallet, but pointing out the exact address might be a (small) first step?

This being said, it might be a good idear to create a non-HD wallet using bitcoin core and see if you can import your key then? AFAIK, you can't import keys into a HD wallet... You can sweep them, but you can't import them. A non-HD wallet should solve this.
Same stands for electrum... If you restore from seed, you create a HD wallet which can only be used to sweep... If you create a wallet entering the private key, you have a non-HD wallet in which other private keys can be imported.

BTW: what's the format of your private key?

dude come on, console bitcoin core not hard to use. i forgot the address, as i mined in past with gavin. some on code sometimes is work sometimes is not. at genesis block i mine, until q2 i lost all block on them, cause i just lost my wallet.dat in that time, and then i and gavin began make private key feature when my bitcoin lost around hundred thousand

an original format, is first format i used the private key

To tell you the truth, i have a hard time following your posts...

I wasn't around in 2009-2010, so i have no idear what format your private key has.
  • WIF: 51 characters base58, starts with a '5'
  • WIF Compressed: 52 characters base58, starts with a 'K' or 'L'
  • Hexadecimal: 64 characters [0-9A-F]
  • Base64: 44 characters
  • ...

At any rate, you should be able to convert your private key into WIF if you tell us which format it currently has. As soon as you converted it into WIF, you should be able to use electrum and follow the wizard to create a new wallet using an existing key... You can do the same with core, but it requires an extra parameter to create a non-HD wallet.

That being said, if you stopped mining around 2010, the total number of bitcoins in circulation would have been little over 7 million. Many of those are attributed to satoshi and other known figures in the bitcoin world. If you say you have an address that was funded with millions of BTC, i don't really believe this... Sorry...

EDIT: fixed a typo: 7 million instead of 5 million...

what do you mean, "new format key from future". As far as i know, the private key format has always been a 256-bit number. This 256 bit number can be represented in hexadecimal format: 32 bytes = 64 characters.
Other formats, like WIF can be converted to hex (and vice versa).

In my previous post, this 64 character representation (HEX format) was one of the possible options.

Sorry dude, i'm going to stop following this thread... I feel we're getting nowhere.

Good luck tough!

It's quite possible he does not have a private key or even a regular normal bitcoin address, in the very early days, transactions were sent directly to the wallet via the ip address. It was not very secure because of that. Eventually it was fixed so that you can only send to bitcoin addresses (the legacy ones beginning with 1.)

I'd like the OP to make public a few of these addresses that he owns, and then we can see for ourselves how much BTC is in them. Next, he's got to somehow get the private key to import so he can either sign a message, or since he can get that to work, to then send the bitcoins to whatever new address he wants.

Next, he's got to somehow get the private key to import so he can either sign a message, or since he can get that to work, to then send the bitcoins to whatever new address he wants.

I wasn't around at that time, but i did read a couple of posts on how sending BTC to an ip worked, and i was under the impression that sending to an ip merely meant that the receiver ran a daemon listening on a public port, if you sent a request to this daemon, it would reply with a valid public key (or address, i don't remember) that could be funded by the sender. Since the whole process was automated, the sender never knew he/she was just funding a public key/address and could have been under the invalid impression he/she was funding an ip.

So, i was under the impression the "send to ip" feature was merely a faster way to get the receiver's public key (or address). It was basically a shortcut so you could send funds to somebody without having to ask him/her to generate a public key/address every time you wanted to fund one of his/her public keys/addresses (since the wallets of the sender/receiver used a protocol to request a new pubkey automatically). It was removed because it was vulnerable to a simple MITM attack.

If my understanding of the subject at hand is correct, the OP should still have a valid private key and public key, the public key hash should still be a valid address.

I could be wrong tough, so please correct me if you have different info Smiley
