There have been massive setbacks for traders who put their faith and money in a Bitcoin trading fund called ‘Xmas Promo.’ LÉON a.k.a. @hitsXBT, the trader behind the fund seems to have successfully pulled off an exit scam, but not before deactivating his Twitter along with all secret Telegram chats with investors.

Investors were promised the yields from the Xmas Promo pool today, Dec 23 at 15:30 UTC. Instead, all they are left with now is the defunct social media accounts of the scammer with seemingly no apparent way to get back their investments, let alone the profits that were promised.

For sure, a lot of Bitcoin traders are falling into this so-called Bitcoin Xmas promo scam!

I’m just glad that I’m not one of them. However, I’m sorry for those who have fell for this brand new scamming technique.

It’s just that the hard-earned money of these investors are being put to waste, as it was left to the hands of that filthy scumbag.

I just felt bad for those who are scammed though, because they could have used some of those funds for celebrating Christmas with their beloved families.

Interesting. Nice share. How do people fall for this? This guy promises people a high return but why did they listen to him? He is just good with words? Who believes 3x your money back in 7 days?? Apparently one person lost 100btc. You would think someone would be happy with 100btc and not be so greedy. Now the scammer is rich beyond belief for hardly doing anything. It isn't fair some people work their whole lives. The scammers just feel nothing and the victims are just making sure scams will always be around because they are greedy. They help someone become rich without work.  Angry

This isn't really a brand new scam scheme. It is the same technique like the typical scam investments. People never learn and don't want to flee themselves from this kind of scam.

Because it is holidays, they thought that they'll a jackpot with this promo. It is our duly responsibility to understand the mechanics and determine if it is legit our not.

Exactly, we all know that during holidays, even in real world, scammers/criminals step up their game a notch because they know that people are willing to spend money during the holidays. So it make sense even for cyber criminals to suckered those who unwittingly thought that they can get money in those so called pool scam. Unfortunately, for them, because of their greed they're going to fall for this trick.

If you know how to earn in crypto you wouldn't fall for this xmas promo type's of scam.
First is there wouldn't be holidays for crypto no double pay or anything so who would give out a bonus just because it's Christmas?
The money we earn in crypto is from our skill and the promise that he made is clearly a scam.
I think only the non-traders had fall into his words because as a trader you know that it would be so hard to gain a massive profit from a short time.

Yes, we feel sorry for them but this happens from time to time so lacking of awareness leads them to fall for their traps.

And if there's a newbie victim, it's very likely that they will think that it is crypto that scammed them and point it just a bit to these con artists.

When a program is heavily appealing to the sense of greed and selfishness which we all have as humans, there is more likelihood that it would just be another exit scam. And that is why I am still wondering why do people keep on being victimized by these well-crafted scams when red flags can be seen and hears all over the place. However, I can understand these victims because I was once one of them also but I already learned my big lessons. When something can be too good to be true then in most probability it really is.

I don't know when people would learn that such high yield investment is probably a scam. And they could just have looked at the market quickly to see that such profit is not guaranteed, since we are in a volatile market. Newcomers should also be aware of this before even investing any amount to cryptocurrency.

And the best type of investment is go directly to the source rather than have a middleman in which you can't trust your funds into. Buying Bitcoin is pretty easy with exchanges everywhere.

BIG WINNER!

For scammers cryptocurrency is a safe heaven now law no rules. They keep coming back and no one can do anything.
We have different levels of perception, maybe they will finally realize it when they have already experienced it or they have seen how it affects the life of other people. These days people keep on making decision without even thinking on it's possible result and that is the reason why they end up getting scammed as if they did not know that scammers will do anything to deceive and take advantage of them. They have already seen some news about scam issues but they choose to disregard it and invest without doing proper research about that project. I hope that they will realize it because they are just putting themselves and their funds in danger. Particularly these days that scammers are thinking for some new ideas on how they can get the benefits they wanted from us, they are getting wiser and improve their techniques especially when someone had finally look for some ideas to get rid of them.

Scams will always here in any industry and with the sudden rise of online platforms and techniques which can reaching more and more people, we have seen a big rise in the number of victims. Essentially, scams are appealing to people's sense of "what is in it for me" or that greediness in all of us. We all wanted to have some money and there will always be people who can be attracted to higher rate of returns on money invested. No wonder then that despite all the warnings from other people and the government, there will be people who can fell as victims. Well, the best lessons are those we learned personally, as they say.

I always say this, Awareness is the key. Scammers are using any possible way to scam people especially this Christmas season. I do hope those who fell for this will not repeat the same history again. How sad that there are still people that are excited to gain easy high money returns. And yes, we can't blame them since the high return is kinda attracting innocent people.
